The "Obama Phone" Lady vs. Angry White Men with Guns
Salon ^ | October 2, 2012

Posted on 10/03/2012 8:00:57 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

..............In the Right-wing's dreamworld, the Obama Phone Lady is a "surplus" person with no place in an Ayn Rand fantasy, what is the Tea Party GOP's dystopian soon-to-be made true reality.

Culture is also transmitted through historical memory.

The white gun shop owner who believes that Obama is a socialist usurper represents a type ofwhiteness that is not benign. While white folks imagine themselves through the lens of white privilege (where they are kind, innocent, and good). For others, Whiteness (and by implication, white people) has been a harbinger of violence, death, destruction, and exclusion. White men with guns who are drunk on white racial resentment, and deeply proud of a gun culture that helped to do the work of both formal white supremacy, as well as Jim and Jane Crow, have historically been sources of deep anxiety for communities of color in the United States. White authority understood the power of guns and worked systematically to deny African Americans, and others, the right and privilege of gun ownership. The latter would allow us the ability to resist the regime of white terror that was the norm for most of United States history.

For example, the systematic disarmament of black men in this country after the Civil War was designed to make the African-American community especially vulnerable to white mob violence, racial pogroms, and ethnic cleansing. Even allowing for that fact, we resisted wherever and whenever possible........

It would seem that Whiteness is always innocent--especially when it is caring a semi-automatic rifle. By contrast, blackness (and black people) is always a threat--even more so when holding a "free" cell phone.

It’s quizzical that the obese are considered “healthy.” When I see Obama’s phone woman, I see an uneducated blubbering mass of illiteracy and a poster-child for the type of people who vote for liberal Democrats.

How come no one talks about the Fast and Furious version of the ObamaPhone – the Guns for Gangsters program?

There's simply no common ground with people disturbed enough to think the way this writer does. All beliefs are not equal, and this guy is so implacably dishonest with himself and objective reality the only first response is to create distance between ourselves and this person.

I picture a person well-manicured and expensively dressed but burdened with a mind as soiled as any neglected, homeless mental patient wandering around any large city talking to himself as he browses dumpsters.

These are the last thoughts of an abandoned animal in a poorly-funded shelter. It's just plain sad.

Every black man ever lynched in America was lynched by a Democrat.

Statement: "..... For others, Whiteness (and by implication, white people) has been a harbinger of violence, death, destruction, and exclusion..."

Response: "All great people are exclusive."-A Great Historian 1888

Comment: I wonder if the loss of the ability to exclude is an index of the loss of greatness?

The guy in the WH (a black guy for those keeping track) is one of a handful of people who is working overtime trying to figure out how to take the people’s inalienlible rights away.
BTW 0bama is a socialist/radical usurper.

I arrived at this thread right after reading an article on Liberal Self-Hating Whites on another web site. Either this is a huge coincidence or this serious mental disease of the Left is rapidly growing.

So, Salon admits that honoring the 2nd Amendment is necessary for self-protection by the citizenry.

The Obama phone “lady” was no lady. That was Geraldine.

I find little more amusing than conceited, pseudo-intellectuals, myopically presenting their rationale for showing contempt of white anxiety over black culture while assuming the validity of black anxiety over white culture.

Very well put.

They exhibit the same myopia when denouncing anti-islamic sentiments right in the middle of one of their anti-Christian rants.

Whenever I see “Salon” my mind transposes letters and I see “No Sale”... anything they’re selling, I’m not buying.

I don’t really care too much anymore how the left sees us. If this is a battle, and what they’re afraid of is gun toting racist homophobes with Bibles in their hands, from now on I consider whatever keeps the enemy awake at night is a plus, convicting them of the truth is a fool’s game at this point. I can see where an advantage could be taken from encouraging those fears at a strategic moment, causing them to overreact and look like the fools themselves, if a snake puts out its head it’s a great opportunity to cut it off.

When the Spartans at Thermopylae faced wave after wave of attack from the overwhelming Persians, they used the pauses between attacks to get their gear in order and to shine their armor, because looking in perfect battle order was a point of pride. But when the fight was at its worst, and they knew the end was drawing near, they began purposely festooning themselves with gore and draping intestines and offal over their shields, and posing the bodies of the slain in grotesque and mocking positions, so that the next wave of Persians upon entering the battle zone, would think that they were entering a scene from Hell, and that the Spartans were the demons who ruled it.

Phobos, the fear, was an enemy to the Spartans, but it was also a tool and a weapon. There’s a time for the armor to shine, there’s also what time to show the enemy what he’s most afraid of, long enough to make him miscalculate his step, and seize the advantage.

Similar to basic judo theory. Push the way he expects, aid his counter push with a pull, a twist of the hip for a launching ramp and fly him into the wall.

You can apply this strategy to the war of public opinion too. For instance, if a memo was leaked that purportedly showed that conservatives were trying to end the MLK holiday, you can imagine the reactions and the protests. Push the way their fears have taught them we will push, so that they fully commit to the counter push...the pull comes when you release evidence that the memo was planted by the Dems, media appearances and the work of conservative commentators can apply the twist of the hip to achieve maximum altitude and distance.

Just a few thoughts...

The fool should learn that surplus does not means something left over beyond what is needed, but still has usefulness.

The screeching tub of lard has no use other than breeding more parasites.

The past tense of the verb ‘pay’ is spelled ‘paid.’ FYI
Sorry, pet peeve.

A land line is of ZERO use to a person who doesn’t have a home to put said land line it. Cell phones ARE cheap not, unless you are insistent on getting the latest and greatest. Virgin mobile, for instance has cheap basic cells for 10-15 buck range that are play as you go. And you don’t need a debit card, you can buy top up cards for a different amount of minutes in a store — public libraries are free, and homeless could set up an account easily and enter their top up card’s number. Simple. I’m sure other companies have similar offers. No one ‘needs’ a camera phone — but just basic access so potential employers can call you and you them.

Yes Paid is the more common spelling and I do not claim to be an expert on spelling nor entomology, but last I checked the American Heritage Dictionary does make such a claim.

payed 2 (pd)
v.
A past tense and a past participle of pay .
