Last night I followed the advice of a troll that infiltrated a Long Island social website regarding the first debate. I turned the sound off, which according to this blogger would give almost x-ray vision in the hearts and minds of the debate participants.

I didn’t seem to work on my television because I thought I was viewing the world’s longest Fixodent commercial. Instead of watching two adults debating the future of America I saw very clever product placement. Without sound your mind creates the sound track. See the confident man smile and laugh without worry if his dentures will fail him at an important event. Then I began to wonder when the screen would cut to video of Joe eating corn on the cob at a campaign stop. I had enough and reached for the mute button. I don’t know if Biden even wears dentures but it would make a good advertisement even for whitening cream.

With sound now streaming from my idiot box, I caught Biden stating” his economy being crippled. The Ayatollah sees that there are 50 percent fewer exports of oil. He sees the currency going into the tank. He sees the economy going into freefall. And he sees the world for the first time totally in opposition to him”. Thinking it was one more Bidenism, I leap from my chair finding it hard to believe he would honestly describe America under Obama! Imagine my disappointment when I realized he was talking about Syria.

Now settling in to actually analyze performance and substance a few things were apparent. Joe Biden’s instructions and debate prep consisted of, smile a lot , don’t be Joe Biden, smile a lot, be a Romney, smile a lot, and take control like a leader should. The big guy really needs this. Ryan’s prep was to act respectful, answer the questions, stay on point and whatever you do don’t reach across the table and punch the old guy in the teeth.

Round two of the debate’s had something for both sides. The liberals are claiming Biden did what Obama was incapable of in the first The conservatives thought Bidden looked like a bobble head with a painted on smile. In real life this debate without any major gaffs will not change minds. No one votes for Vice President, the position is like most government jobs big title, big pay and little work. It only reflects back on the top when they out shine or embarrass their boss.

This time around the Democrats seemed to have no problem with Martha Raddatz from ABC “news”. She did allow Biden to act Mittish and interrupt Ryan a few times (82). She also helped Biden with his talking points list by bringing up the constitutional right to free taxpayer provided abortions and birth control. The liberals sighed in relief when she didn’t ask Joe to thank his boss for attending her wedding.

Stay tuned for the next debate Tuesday October sixteenth for round three of the rumble in the political jungle.
