I know it would wound Romney to make a big deal out of college records at this point because it would stigmatize him as a "birther," but I can't help but reflect upon when the media made a big deal about Bush's college transcripts a few elections ago. The hypocrisy is astounding. We have so much more to learn from Obama's records than we did from Bush's.
With Bush the questions basically were "Was he a drunken frat boy who barely squeaked by?" "Did Daddy pull strings to get you into school?" "Will his grades help us prove he was/is dumber than Mensa-level Al Gore?"
With Obama the questions are "How did you get into Columbia?" "How did you get into Harvard?" "Can we please have objective, third-party confirmation of your vitae?" "Can we have something other than your ghost-written memoirs to let us know what shaped you and whether the man you present yourself as now has changed (or has not changed) radically from the man you were in college, and if so, what motivated the change?"
I know Obama meant nothing by the transparency "malarky" (vocabulary hat tip to Uncle Joe) that he spouted four years ago, but the man is unvetted.
I cannot figure out how or who should ask the question "Where's the college records?" Romney had the chance to do so with a little ju-jitsu when he was dogged about the tax returns, but that has passed.

When Adlai Stevenson was running for President against Eisenhower in 1956, his college transcripts were kept locked in a cabinet in the office of the President of Harvard. Stevenson was touted as an intellectual, compared to the dunce Eisenhower. Stevenson was Wilsonian Progressive, Eisenhower was a Rockefeller style “moderate” Republican. Eisenhower was probably one of the better presidents; no wars, a booming economy, progress on civil rights without massive Federal intrusion.

The Nazis are a textbook illustration of the fact that a ruthless minority can seize control of a liberal democracy, especially in a country without a tradition of tolerance and pluralism. They learned from the Bolsheviks and instructed the Alinskyite Democrats.
There is hypocrisy regarding the media, college records, and Romney, also.
If I recall correctly, Romney was a maga/summa cum laude graduate not just of one Harvard program but of two. I believe he was a highly honored successful student in both their Business College and the Law Department.
I don’t care what school you go to...Harvard or whereever... but, you’ve got to be pretty darn bright and dedicated to accomplish that.
While they might not mention Obama’s college history, you’d think their interest in this kind of thing would suggest that Romney should be getting some credit in that area.
IOW, he is an extremely smart, extremely committed, and extremely hard-working individual.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but after they were released, weren’t GW’s grades better than Gore’s? True to media propaganda, they buried it, because....Dems are all geniuses and Repubs are dummies.
Yes, back during the Bush-Gore election a graphic was repeatedly posted here called “Al’s Report Card,” depicting Gore in a dunce cap and listing some of his pathetically low grades.

And this is the reason you hold GOP Talk Radio and Media like Hannity, Levin, Coulter, and many others in the GOP Media, responsible for taking away a major campaign issue from Romney and the GOP. Hannity, Levin, Coulter, et al... were all Anti-Birther, and, instead of pushing for Obama to release his REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE and other documents...attacked and berated those who wanted the issue addressed
That was not conservative.
Instead of Obama gone by 2012....the GOP and Romney now are afraid to ask for any past records of Obama. really brilliant move, GOP Talk Radio and GOP Media
Obama got his best help from Hannity/Levin/Coulter...et al...by their covering for, and, supporting Obama in Obama Eligibility/Birther issue.
Someone in the media ought to say: “While we’re fact checking debates, I just realized that no one has fact-checked you. Could we see the Columbia transcripts, please?”

Those who have lived under Communism or Naziism know what is taking place and are not fooled by the lofty concern for humanity on the part of Progressives. (It’s about power.)
