Obama's Empty Chair
10/18/2012 | Pontiac

I have been thinking again of Clint Eastwood’s speech at the Republic Convention and it has occurred to me how his apt his metaphor of the empty chair was in describing Barak Obama was for the Obama Presidency.

During Obama’s tenure as President of the United States the chair that by all rights should have been occupied by Barak H. Obama has been left vacant.

Consider the chair at the President’s daily intelligence briefing which was left vacant 57% of the days of Barak Obama’s first term.

Consider the chair that was vacant at meetings with Prime Minister of Israel when the most important ally the US has in the Middle East visited Washington this year.

Consider all of the chairs that were vacant at meetings with members of congress when Obama was on the golf course more times during his first three years in office than President Bush was in his 8 years in office.

Consider all of the chairs left vacant during Obama’s numerous vacations and apology tours abroad. Most presidents leave the foreign tours to their second term and concentrate on domestic issues in their first term. Not the Great Obama; the most severe economic crisis since the Great Depression could not keep him in his chair.

Clint Eastwood’s parody of Obama just keeps getting better the more I think about it.

Maybe we should have a President that occasionally sits the chair he was elected to occupy.

The metaphor of the empty chair is utterly Brilliant! Empty suit; empty head; the empty chair is just delicious! Empty Chair and Eastwooded will go into the history books as defining the Obama four years.

Yes the more I think about the Empty Chair the more the metaphor rings true.

These four years will be known in the future as the Era of the Empty Chair.

The Office of the President may as well have been vacant these four years. Obama’s Czars for all intents and purposes have run the country.

Obama had no interest in what they were doing and his bowling scores show it.

I wonder if limiting vacation travel to two weeks per year and to locations only within the U.S. would cause Obama to drop out of the race, due to pressure from Moochelle?

Not sure if this is on anther thread but I looked at the video of the debate and it looks like BO was given the questions.

At 1:06:35 in the debate, a question from Kerry Luska was going to be asked. BO actually walks up toward the man and says softly, “Hi Kerry” before the man is even identified by name. Then he appears to step back and tries to look confused by looking all around but Kerry stands up practically right in front of him.

Hmmmmm......

You are kidding, right? Personal attention and attending important and vital meetings is a part of the job.

Golf and parties Obama never misses.

People have no way of knowing if Obama reads the daily briefings. I assume he does not.

Do you prefer a micro manager who second guesses every thing his huge array of professional personnel report to him?

Well considering that BO had absolutely no experience in intelligence (in more ways than one) prior to entering the Oval Office I would say no.

But considering that BO is the President of the United States and again has no previous experience in intelligence or foreign policy and that he may be called upon to make high level decisions concerning national security I do want him at these daily briefings so that he can participate in the discussions that go on at these briefings.

Let us also remember that the National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor is an employee of the White House and serves at the discretion of BO and is a professional spokesman. It is his job to make BO look good. In reality he probably has no idea if BO reads the PDB or not.

So considering BO’s inexperience, his well known arrogance and self importance I would prefer that he attend as many Intelligence Briefings as possible so that should the need arise that he should have some idea of what it is that he is deciding should he ever be called upon to make a decision concerning national security.

I hate it when that happens! LOL

If he feels he needs more details or push back and request more information or change of approach, he can attend the meeting.

Apparently, liberal/communist/progressive/islamist "feelings" and laziness didn't require any "push back," as you incorrectly call a live discussion with top intelligence personnel, about Libya!

The result is an apology to Islamists about a video, the "not optimal" murder of four Americans including an American Ambassador and a disaster in the Middle East foreign policy.

AdMod, we need a clean up in aisle #5 before the store opening on Nov. 6.

Yep, no response to my response. I wonder if she read it. I kind of hope not because the poor little mom might orphan her Walmart kids when she stroked out.

Walmart Mom was just another cowardly DUmmie. They are just like their hero Obama.

Jump in with a ditz brained remark and then run so they won’t have to be challenged. LOL
