Mitt Romney goes into the "Prevent Defense"

It is unbelievable that Mitt Romney did not answer a direct question teed up for him by the moderator Bob Schieffer - regarding the question of whether Obama mislead the American people over the unmitigated debacle and possible treason that was Benghazi. He gave Romney an open end question, inviting him to address the Libya debacle.
Romney chose to ignore the question and instead recite a monologue that sounded like a canned political speech.
Romney then allowed Obama to interrupt him and take over the question that was actually posed to himself - not Obama.
It became evident six minutes into the debate that Mitt Romney either did no debate prep or he is deliberately going into the notorious "prevent defense" - weeks before the election.
It was absolutely inconceivable that the Romney campaign could find a way to actually allow this saboteur to put ROMNEY on the defensive minutes into the debate - yet he DID. Dear God it is unbelievable. I am stunned.

Don't forget Myth's incessant reminders that he can reach "across the aisle."Agreed. He repeated that promise like a pandering scumbag. A weakling. But that's Romney for you. I do not want a president who "reaches across the aisle" unless it is with a fist.

this is how stupid they really are...the Romneys, Gillespies, Roves, Kristols and so forth of the GOP are
only thing saves them is they are marginally better than the Boy King
Romney better put on his big britches...neither Islam, Putin nor Red China will be as goofy as Obama and Axlerod

I agree with everything you say I intended post a vanity which tries to be a bit original and not merely echoing the conventional wisdom which is that Romney lost the debate on points but won the election.
This idea was not original but my expression of it predates all of the pundits after the event. This is what I posted about 7 AM Eastern standard Time:

I was also going to post in my vanity that 16 days from now, no make that 17 days give Romney a chance to bask in his victory, we conservatives should lower the boom on Romney and begin to make it clear that he had better consider us in his appointments and in his policy or conservatives will be thin on the ground come next election cycle.
We have to stop Obama, that means we have to elect Romney, we cannot elect Romney if we indulge a post-nomination primary process. We become a real factor in the new president's life, indeed the new President-elect's life, immediately after the election. Then the gloves come off.

I believe Romney’s remarks were much to condescending in a Rodney King societal envelope of ‘why can’t we all get together’. It’s not assuring as to turning the Nation back to the intent of the Founders. Of course these days ,not even Repubs like to to go back to what the Founders intended for this Nation, not enough social distribution probably.

His nervous demeanor, facial expressions, furtive glances and imploring looks directed at Schieffer were those of an unstable psychopath. The thought occurred to me last night (when he was doing one of his “glares”) that his eyes had the look of a caged raccoon (possibly rabid) that I had trapped and was relocating away from where it was haunting the vicinity of our house.

Instead the Stupid Party (R) manages to put “the other side of the aisle” as their nominee in the form of a gun grabbing, baby murdering, homosexual marriage supporting liberal. What’s even more laughable are those that proudly, and stupidly, claim Myth is “conservative.””
You’ve jumped the shark. You don’t get it. This election was never about electing Romney. This election is about getting Obama out of the White House. No one cares if YOU like Romney. Romney is somewhat irrelevant - it is all about getting Obama out. All that Romney needs to do is not say anything too stupid.
Obama’s own record should be enough to defeat him. If Romney is elected, then bring out your criticisms and blast him all you want - for now, though, you’re merely shadow boxing at nothing. If you think Romney and Obama are one and the same, then nothing anyone can say will change your mind. Time will tell - unless Obama wins, then we’re screwed for sure, no doubt about it.
