DENIED! Allred Strikes Out, David Corn Weeps
The Red Side of Life ^ | 10-25-12 | RedInNewYork

After a humiliating performance in court, over two days, it looks like Gloria Allred will leave Massachusetts without a bimbo to trot around this time.

Allred came to court to get the gag order on her client, the wife of the founder of Staples, lifted. The gag order prevents her client from discussing the details of her divorce in the early 90s, where Mitt Romney offered testimony in support of the husband. Allred left court empty handed.

Over Allred's pathetic pleas, the attorney from the Boston Globe agreed to Staple's stipulation settling the matter - and leaving the gag order intact. At one point, Allred was actually heard begging the Boston Globe attorney to turn down the offer, yelling "please!" The answer? No. Thus the stipulation was signed, and Allred's client was silenced. In effect, the Boston Globe threw Allred under the bus.

The angst on the radical left was immediately evident. David Corn, of Mother Jones, desperately tweeted "How did Allred let that happen? Was there a screw-up?"

In the end, Allred ended up with nothing more than a 20 year old piece of paper and nobody to talk about it.

The amazing thing about the Jack Ryan revelations was that ,besides being in a sealed divorce proceedings which mysteriously in the Chicago way got passed to the now disgusting Chicago Trib, they reveled a mouse that become a mountain. It seems Ryan once proposed to his wife that they visit a sex club and she said ‘no’ and horrors that was the end of the matter. Some how this non event terrorized the worthless Illinois GOP and instead of mounting a heavy counterattack on the non-event revealed and the legal violation of getting at a sealed divorce proceeding they deserted Ryan and forced him to withdraw from the race stick keyes in at the last minute. The Ryan case is an object lesson in RINO cowardice.

Betcha it gets leaked anyway.

Romney doesn't care. Without the visual - the weeping client with Allred's arm draped around her making the rounds on The View, etc. - it will be a wasted effort.

Since the gag order was not lifted, will Romney be able to respond to/issue any statements, to the MSMs accusations and spin of his testimony?

Romney was not included in the original gag order -- that was an agreement between the principals as part of the settlement. He can say anything he wants to, but he'd be wise to ignore the whole thing, other than to say, "the transcript has been released and other than that, I don't want to comment about a private matter between two people".

Perhaps Stemberg could work around the gag order by making the media rounds anyway and getting her story out Charades style.

"First word - starts with A... abandonment. actionable. ah, adultry."

I am not understanding the role of the Boston Globe in this matter. They are no friends of Romney, so why agree to keeping the gag order in effect ?

Nor do I understand how judges can make private personal divorce settlements public ? How can someone like Allred or the Boston Globe even approach a judge to get divorce records unsealed?

>> I highly doubt that Romney will say anything about this case to anyone. My guess is that he will not comment on it.

Of course not. Why would he? There’s no “there”, there.

Now get back to work. :-)

geez did you miss my entire point?

They dont CARE that the judge denied her request. It is probably what they WANTED.

They KNOW the transcripts are nothing but boring financial info about Staples stock

They dont really WANT them out- they just want to be able to SAY that it is Romney that is refusing, and so he must be convering up something.

Evil Republicans like the Boston Globe and a judge appointed by Deval Patrick? Um, yeah...no.

The husband opposed lifting the gag order. he people protected here are the parties, their families, their business relationships. When they settled this they agreed to keep their mouths shut.

All settlements with a confidentiality agreement, will always say something like “unless to comply with a valid court order” so it’s understood you may have to reveal something due to a court proceeding.

Having nothing to do with Romney, the husband is being protected from her now running around calling him a liar and a cheat.

The Boston Globe will still write about the testimony and will still try to argue that Romney may have lied. The gag on Allred’s client will just deny them a female face on the story.

From what I saw this wife is a real hater and may not have come off well anyway.

My fave Allred client has to be the one who cried with Gloria on tv because Tiger Woods did NOT bother to include her on his list of 1000 women he slept with.

Maybe Jack was dropping in the polls and figured Keyes would be more likely to get elected. Or maybe he did what you said and simply wimped out. Either way, we were all screwed because Barry entered the picture. That was a truly sad day for this country!
