Parks and Recreation: Obamacare Pitch Tonight
Vanuty | 24 Oct 2012 | Square Pants

I'm watching Parks and Recreation tonight, and the plot's nothing more than an end-around for Obamacare. Man suffers heart attack. Man goes to hospital. Friends need to throw a benefit to help man pay for healthcare - because, as a municipal employee he has bad healthcare. How absurd is that? I've always thought municipal employees have pretty darn good healthcare, btw. Has anyone else noticed sneaky Obamacare pitches popping up in TV shows?

They should have a retired character on medicare coming out of the hospital from surgery who falls and breaks his arm a few days later and the hospital refuses to let him in because of new Obama rules that medicare won’t pay for 2 hospitalizations within a month

Unless you work for some podunk town in Kentucky or Alabama of 2k people...that’s about the only way to end up as an employee with lousy healthcare. Go out and view what employees are offered in most California towns and cities. Go and ask most employees in Florida who work for municipal governments. All of them get fairly good and decent policies.

This is why I pretty much avoid all mainstream entertainment.

It’s all propaganda 24/7.

It’s called BS. I have not met a government worker that doesn’t have fantastic health insurance coverage, everyone has health care.

Nonsense! Why, if it weren't for network tv shows, I would have never realized that being a straight white Christian male was such an oddity and to keep my mouth shut!

Recently the vile ‘Modern family’ had this grabber. The old goat played by the Al Bundy character has a very pregnant younger Latina wife. He tells her ‘You snore. You are big and loud. Its like sleeping with Rush Limbaugh.’ That is what passes for wit among the libtard secular humanists.

Since the main character won a council seat, she has raised taxes to stop people from drinking too much soda, has passed out condoms despite 85% of the people being against it.

The show has become a vehicle for leftwing propaganda.

California Asks TV Networks to Push Obamacare In TV Shows - With Your Money

The California Health Benefit Exchange has hired a PR firm to convince major TV networks to try to sell viewers on the virtues of Obamacare.

To add insult to injury, the federal government is one of the main sources for the money California will pay to the PR firm. Thus the same government that gave us a healthcare takeover we didn’t want is now invading our entertainment to convince us that the healthcare takeover isn’t that bad after all.

Exchange executive director Peter V. Lee says he would like “to see 10 of the major TV shows, or telenovelas, have people talking about ‘that health insurance thing.’” As a result, the exchange will pay Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide to convince shows like “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Modern Family” to work Obamacare into their scripts.

Of the hundreds of millions the exchange has on hand to accomplish this, $237 million came directly from the federal government.
