I am humbly asking all in the FReeper community to say a prayer for my friend Tim. He has been battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS -- also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) for the past 2-1/2 years. Today my dear friend Cindy, his wife, told me that he has gone almost completely non-responsive. The hospice care workers have told her it's doubtful he will last beyond the weekend. Please, if you could spare a prayer for Tim during your personal prayers and/or at your church service over the weekend, I would appreciate it. He will leave behind his wife and 12-yr-old twins.
It’s a cruel disease. The mind is not affected so they know all that is going on and they can’t respond. My Mother-In-Law had ALS for 13 years. She had around the clock care and was given a lot of vitamins. Not sure if anyone else has survived that long with it but it was miserable for all the family. Prayers for Tim and his family.

My family and church will be praying for Tim, Cindy and their two girls this weekend. Prayers are already headed their way. And for you as well. It’s good to have good friends!
Prayers of peace for for your friend Tim and for peace and strength for his wife and children. This is a dreadful disease. We lost a dear, brave friend to it about 4 years ago. If a tenth of the money that was available for Aids research was given to research for ALS I’m sure that a cure could be found very quickly.
You have my prayers my FRiend. I lost a friend to ALS five years ago. She was 45.
