Benghazi: No Other Explanation Fits

A Mideast “Fast and Furious” emerging within weeks of the election would be devastating

On October 4 in Canada Free Press, I wrote a column entitled Was Ambassador Stevens’ Death a Hit?, so suspicious did I find the circumstances surrounding the attack on the US embassy in Benghazi, Libya at that time. On October 25, I followed up with Obama’s Feet of Clay, in which I discussed the likelihood that President Barack Obama failed to react to the attack despite real-time knowledge of developments in Benghazi because he wished to obscure or bury evidence of the administration’s gun running activities to Libyan and Syrian rebels.

The reason for Obama’s desire to do so, in this scenario, would be twofold. One, because weapons were not only being provided to Libyan and Syrian rebels, but were in fact being provided to jihadists across the Middle East with whom Obama sympathizes, but who are enemies of the US. Two, because Ambassador Christopher Stevens himself may have become a liability for reasons still uncertain (although my first column outlines one possibility). The fact that Stevens’ mission, and that of other US operatives in Libya was a clandestine one has been established; this is certainly a likely reason for Obama to want a lid kept on it. If revealed, obviously this would substantially threaten his re-election chances.

As I indicated early on, not only did I see Obama’s pre-September 11 actions as being executed in order to cultivate plausible deniability on his part, but I suspected even then that he might have employed rebels or jihadis to eliminate Stevens. It does bear mentioning that Obama’s cavalier dismissal of intelligence briefings leading up to Sept. 11, 2012 was widely reported prior to that date.

Ernest. I had been on CSPAN and elsewhere. Interesting Johh Hopkins's class session on the pros and cons of Truman dumping MacArthur.
I have been avoiding some answer or response to the Egyptian Police killing of the alleged goon that has been identified as one of those taking part in the Benghazi terrorist attacks.
I can appreciate why you suggested checking out the news cast on that one. We don't know how the goon fits into the whole.
There is just to many "loose strings" being put forth. Some most of us can appreciate as most likely very accurate, others, not so.
I held my tongue on one post for instance where one of the two Colonels made the statement that "jet fighters" where only twenty minutes away.
That is pure bull shit. I know better. I went through a short discourse I will hold firm to and no one will be able to prove me wrong, as to the optimum time frames a F18E loaded with a reasonable payload of various forms of JDAMS and like smart weapons would have taken, based on total load,altitude, speed, discounting off course the true air conditions, head wind, tail wind, lateral winds, temperature at altitude say, 20K, etc., while keeping an eye on a accurate flight computer display, as just how long the flight to target would be. And then how long it would take after spending required time at target, how many passes, how much fuel would be consumed during that particular part of the mission, then be able to after releasing air to ground weapons, return to the original base.
Like I said. At best without "air refueling", it would at best been on fumes. Put another way, most likely falling short of a successful landing at original airfield.

So on that particular point. The good Colonel was totally off.
But not to make it look like they did not put into, other then that given point, since to date we have not been informed in public menu, that indeed KSY in essence also was not in the position to launch a C-130 gun ship due to the immediate short fall due to rotation in personnel and available quick reaction crews to get such a bird airborne and to target in their AOR, the rest of what the two Colonels had to say I have no problem with.

We are getting bombarded by to much info that is not always verifiable. I want to keep a total open mind. We are sure about quite a few aspects of this failed operation.
I cannot resolve otherwise how there was not a clandestine operation in process where arms where being gathered out of Libya on what at first glance could be considered a noble goal, but then sent via. secret agreements with the government of Turkey to end up in the hands of what may be considered "UN-desirable" hands of Sunni Arabs, including of course various elements within the AL-Qaeda sub groups.

So I am trying to keep low key from the perspective of challenging most of the stuff that is coming out. I tend to believe strongly this whole tragedy is based on weapon transfers under a false pretense to what many of us would consider UN-reliable at best or more to the point people who should not have been receiving such weaponry.

That as most probably you and most here, believe, is the true state of affairs, and the kenyan administration for a great number of reasons is trying to keep the tea kettle pot lid from blowing sky high.
This getting late on the east coast. Shortly time to try to get some sleep. I got to decide what to stock up on tomorrow before the storm hits the east coast, in my neck of the woods.

For any that might respond. Yeah. But there are no F18 Hornets at said airbase. I would respond. Check out the total capability of a given weapon load. similar or the same mix of air to ground weapons loaded on an F16 Falcon that is at that base. So don't get caught up in some stupid argument where you may find your self on the line of distinguishing between those two aircraft as well as a few well known NATO nation aircraft the total air time with similar weapons from take off from said base, to target and back WITHOUT the use of air refueling over the southern central med.
Point is.
The colonel was quite a bit off in his comment on that particular part of the conditions they discussed.
Twenty minutes for those that understand. Was totally off the mark. I wish he did not make that statement.
