Benghazi: The president says the election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed, but, as in 1980 at another embassy, it should — just as it matters who gave the order to stand down.
We have speculated that a reason the cries for military help during the seven-hour assault on our consulate in Benghazi were ignored was due to fears of another "Blackhawk down" incident as in Somalia under President Clinton or a repeat of the Desert One mission that crashed and burned in the Iranian desert in a failed attempt to rescue our hostages in Tehran in 1980.
After all, according to Richard Miniter's book "Leading From Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him," it was at the urging of White House adviser Valerie Jarrett that President Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden three times before finally approving the May 2, 2011, Navy SEAL mission. Her concern: the political harm to Obama if the mission failed.
As we've written, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has falsely said we didn't have real-time intelligence of the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi. The administration has also suggested it was the CIA that put the brakes on any attempt at relief or rescue.
ABC's Jake Tapper reports that a CIA spokesman, presumably at the direction of CIA Director David Petraeus, has put out a statement saying, "No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate."

Here is a hypothesis (note- this means I do not have any evidence that this is true) but it explains a lot of the behavior on 9/11. First some history— Carter’s hostages were held > a year, his rescue failed, and the Iranians made him look ineffective (at best). Had Carter secured their release or rescued them he probably would have won reelection.
Obama and a (very) few advisers open back channel talks with some shadowy Libyan radicals. They come up with a plan to seize Ambassador Stevens and maybe other personnel at the consulate. Then release them after some highly orchestrated high level and highly public negotiations resulting in an exchange of terrorist or $$, or just good will for the return of the Americans.
This scenario allows a twofer for Obama. He can play Osama’s killing against this humanitarian gesture that got our people released. Voila, Obama is the hero, and wins reelection.
What went wrong. The Americans didn’t go along with being kidnapped and resisted, the radicals did not follow orders and killed the ambassador, or Obama was deliberately double crossed. Any way you slice it a dead ambassador doesn’t make for good press.
This explains the stand down order, and the confusion in trying to come up with a story. The truth is worse than anything they could come up with.

You can’t start out in left field with theories.
A fine theory is, Obama was petrified he was going to do something to blow the election.
That the order to stand down originated from him and was passed along through the chain of command.
The problem with the MANPAD theory is it gives some legitimacy to Obama’s action — he did it to protect intelligence assets and didn’t truly understand the lethality of the situation.
I don’t think this is as far-fetched as some might think.
I’m also wondering if lighting the fire was done to “smoke them out” and take them captive.
The biggest question is why would the people at the annex be told to “stand down”? This piece of the story makes absolutely no sense.
And now Obama has hunkered down in the White House to avoid taking questions on his role in Benghazi.
Will the Navy Seals have to go in and evict him once Romney takes the oath of office?
What’s no far fetched? The idea that Obama administration was in cahoots with the attackers of the consulate in Libya on the 9/11/12?
Yes it is really really far fetched.
Call him an idiot, naive, poor president, lily livered chicken all you want and most here will agree and listen, veer off into fringe conspiracy and you lose.
The assertion is just as ludicrous as Bush administration blowing up the WTC on 9/11/01.

REALLY? I think it is pretty f***ing clear to anyone who listened to the chicago thuggee. He said HE WOULD STAND WITH HIS F@CKING MUSLIM BROTHERS IF THERE WAS A WAR WITH THE US. HE ALSO SAID AMERICA WILL NOT GO TO WAR AGAINST ISLAM.

It Is a huge scandal but it’s true that if you’re operating in a denied area under non-official cover (annex) then you NEEEEEVER show up at a US Embassy or Consulate — you’ll get photoed, ID’ed and tortued to death. Or they’ll follow u to your safe-house, then capture anf torture to death EVERYONE there.
The pair ARE heroes but they probably did lead the attackers to “The Farm” (annex).
It is unlikely but PoSSIBLE that when Barry went to sleep he was expecting 40 deaths and not 4.

Every SOF officer and ops officer all the way up has this drummed into his head. We can make Obama respond to this question, even if reporters must shout it at him while he’s doing storm cleanup photo ops. If the reporters KNOW enough to ask the quesion.
That’s why I am shouting all over the internet about CBA.
I can’t believe cross-border authority permission is not one of the top discussion points about Benghazi.
That, and who “set him up” by sending him to Benghazi to meet the Turks on 9-11, with them leaving after dark.
And of course, down the road, was the military rescue-in-progress turned back because Obama actually wanted to make sure the consulate was wiped out? Is that why the spooks at the annex were refused permission to travel the under one mile to intervene? That would connect it all together, but for now, the best focus is on Obama either granting or withholding cross-border authority for the rescue.

Newt Gingrich was just on the second hour of Greta’s show on FNC and he said that there are at least 2 networks that have copies of emails from the NSA (Obama White House) denying requests for help and telling them to stand down.
On another note, Newt said that within the next 2 days there will be reports of corruption between the Obama Administration and those loans to the green energy industry where many of these businesses went bust. He said it will be devastating. Stay tuned...
The reason that was given for instructing them to stand down was because these were not terrorists, but a flash mob...ooooops.
