The GOP’s horrible California nightmare

Republicans are having a bad day. But it’s going to get a lot worse when they look beyond the White House and U.S. Senate and fully absorb what just happened in California. The future of American politics — a majority-minority coalition handing complete political power over all branches of government to Democrats — is written here for anyone to see, in big, bold, rainbow colored letters.

California, reports the San Francisco Chronicle, may have delivered the most unexpected news in a night full of surprises:

California Democrats appear to have picked up a supermajority in both houses of the state Legislature Tuesday night, a surprise outcome that gives the party the ability to unilaterally raise taxes and leaves Republicans essentially irrelevant in Sacramento.

If preliminary results hold, 2012 will mark the first time in 80 years that either political party in California has enjoyed super-majority control. Republicans everywhere should be paying close attention. Because the demographic trends that led to Obama’s reelection — the increasing diversity of the electorate, the relative liberalism of the youth vote, the declining influence of old white males — made their national debut in California in the late 80s and early 90s. The rest of the nation is just catching up.

California has just become a one-party state, not unlike its neighbor to the south, Mexico.

This is bad for the GOP because of the liberals that will be climbing on our backs and shouting “Forward!”. Get to work you angry white guys, a “reresentative of diversity”will be depending on you.

I don’t see a supermajority of RATS in nutjob California as a bad thing. They’ll go do stupid RAT stuff, ruin the state and need an intellectual bailout from Republicans.

I do weep for the citizens of that state.... They are nuts. BUT at least they’ll have to wear condoms in pornos made in California now....

Unless you want America to be like CalifornicatingU land, the rest of America needs to separate this blue state pos’s from your money.

Start a boycott, buycott or avoidcott with the Blue States.

Don’t buy a product made or raised in a blue state unless you have proof its owners are not left wingers.

Don’t vacation in, or have conventions or business meetings in, Democrat blue states. Start with Nevada until the casino bosses get rid of Reid and send him home to have more time with his family.

Don’t visit CalifornicatorU land. Don’t go to Follywood movies and stay away from our products except those produced or raised by conservatives.

Avoid NY City like it has the plague. It has the terminal Bloomberg mental illness.

The Blue Staters hate you, your religion, your belief system, and your priorities in life, like your family members and friends. Let the Blue Staters try to live without your $’s.

Let the blue states sink on their own!

Save your charity $’s for red state people when disasters hits their area.

California has slipped into an abyss from which it will never recover. Any Californians with an ounce of integrity left should pack up and leave the state before it utterly collapses economically and morally. California will quickly become a banana republic run by corrupt cleptocrat officials who run a society of peons.

I’m not so glum.

The Democrats overreach when in full control, just like the Republicans did. They get fat, lazy, think they deserve everything and own nothing. They will sow the seeds of their own destruction at the same time they systematically destroy California.

The people in California have now received the government they deserve.

“This isn’t a nightmare for the gop. California was lost years ago. This is going to be a nightmare for residents of California.”

Exactly. I intend to sit back and watch and do a little “see, I told you so” to liberals.

You don’t get it. 40 years ago California was a bedrock Republican state. Reagan was Governor 40 years ago.

California is now a one-party communist strong hold. It only took 40 years from Reagan to solid communist state.

Well, Regan was US president 20 years ago. The US has about 20 years to go before it is solid blue due to the maturing and colonizing of the states by Hispanics.

The point is, 40 years ago we had Reagan. We stayed Republican long enough to have relatively right leaning governors in Deukmajian and Pete Wilson. Wilson’s last election was 1996, and by 2010, California is solid liberal/socialist/commie thanks to minorities.

Well, GW’s last election was 2004, that puts the USA as deep liberal/commie by about 2025.

Just as there are many conservative counties in one-party California, there will be plenty of conservative states in one-party commie USA.

The Demographics are going to bury us. The GOP is dead and by 2025, the USA will be a one-party Democrat nation. That is the jist of the Salon article, although my spin is to put dates to it, based on California’s fall.

You have a good point with earthquake Sandy. It is definitely going to show up the takers and their enablers.

I think God literally that I fled the San Francisco bay area 5 years ago. Now, to flee this communist state.

I was keen to move to Virginia. Now, not so much after they have gone deep purple.

Bingo. That is the point. It is not as if right leaning 60’s era Californians just woke up one day and embraced socialism. The state has been colonized for 50 years by New England liberals and foreign immigrants who bring their socialist backgrounds with them.

This is America’s future. Low birth rates for whites, massive immigration rates thanks to Ted Kennedy (may he burn in hell).

That is America’s future. The parasites already outnumber the workers. It is only going to get rapidly worse.

The GOP is dead—Now they exist as a symbolic straw man—to set up fools to be beaten. They are gone! We are a one party state now— No Republican will ever sleep in the White House! lets work to give control of the house to the Democrats and change the Laws so Obama can run for a 3rd and 4th term. Thank you George Bush! We may well be out of work but at least we will have health care and food stamps!

How did the GOP ensure that Romney won the nomination via winning the most votes in the election for the nomination? How is winning the most votes for the nomination him being shoved down anyone’s throat?

It may be nice to think some big conspiracy was/is controlling it all, but how does the GOP control who runs and who wins the most nomination votes?

It is interesting that you put things that way. For 3 generations we have lived in Illinois, but over the last couple of years, I have heard things like “blue staters deserve what they get” “screw blue staters” “Illinois should just die” or the same about any blue state. Our state happens to very very red, with the exception of Chicago.

So, now, after this election, I can sympathize with you. I say all the US can go rot. Texas and every other state. Because, like us in Illinois, we are affected by a small tiny blip of blue on our map. It is obvious that the overwhelming part of America wants their “stuff” from the government.

Our kids are near done with school, and we have been wondering where to retire. We thought about places like Texas and the like, but after so much hatred from people like you, we know we would only be “Yankees with a u haul”

My wife and I talked last night, and even for tax reasons, it is becoming more and more evident that we will have to expatriate, but even when others in our own country think that we are guilty of something because of association, I must conclude that they are right, and in that same model say you are guilty by association of being part of what once was the greatest nation on earth, but is fast becoming nothing more than a university experiment in diversity and jingoism.

It is quite clear though, that at this point, we are the enemy of the nation. We are hated by the left because we are white and what some would consider wealthy, and we are hated by the right because I am not a native Texan, or I’m not Baptist, or whatever reason. Why stay in a nation where we are not wanted any longer? Why pay one of the worlds highest tax rates where we feel we are just being milked for our cash?

My wife being German, we may go back to there, where I was stationed, or maybe just vacation there for a few years. We are considering moving to the Philippines as well, or perhaps Shanghai to live out our years. But, you and those like you over the years have helped solidify the notion that there is no more United States of America. You can hunker down with your guns and wait for the taxman to take all you have. We are thinking that we are going to go off the grid and wish our friends in the US the best of luck (even if they hate us because we lived in a blue state).

Sour Grapes? Maybe, but I’m too old to care anymore. I worked hard all my life, had our company closed up by IBEW and the Plumbers union last year, have no desire to start another business in this climate, and feel alienated by both people like you, and liberals.

Oh, i’m sure everyone in Texas is packin 30 handguns, a hundred rifles and has water for a year. When they start sending drones your way because of tax evasion, you’ll wish you had vacated as well. I learned in the service, you need to know when to stand your ground, and when to retreat. It’s time my wife and I started considering an exit strategy.
