RESPONSE TO CHARITABLE REQUESTS FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS
11-9-12 | Me

Posted on 11/09/2012 8:00:06 AM PST by SMARTY

In the future, when I receive requests in the mail from organizations who want a donation, I will return the following note to them in their OWN postage paid envelope:

Sir:

The US government has hired people to take my money from me FOR you.

As a result, it is impossible for me to continue contributions to charities of MY choice.

If you need assistance, I suggest you contact the people the government has hired on your behalf.

Thank you.

I regularly donate to animal shelters and rescues.

I don't have much sympathy for humans these days.

no....we won't be very magnanimous this year...

I have not donated to our company’s annual UW extortion request the entire time I have been employed here due to the fact that the organizations I volunteer my time to are not UW agencies. The election is now another reason to add to my list come extortion time.

I’ve worked directly with them in disasters and they are absolutely awe inspiring.

Consider shopping at the Salvation Army stores. I live at the edge of a city bordering on an affluent area. I've found a lot of brand new stuff for my preps including an unused Coleman propane stove and lantern, a new in box Pyromid stove and numerous brand new small electrics and cast iron cooking utensils. My only price is having to listen to one of those "religious" radio stations that supported O'Chavez and thinks all white people are going to hell. On the other hand, it's pretty damned funny.

I wont stop giving to charities. What bugs me about them is many of them are run by CEOs that make nearly a million a year. Look at the Red Cross. Some of the CEOs like the one for the Salvation Army, I think makes 70K. Its amazing how much they do with so little.

its not the charities.....its the fact that WE the givers have been sabotaged because we are the workers, the producers, the volunteers, the law obedient, those who have tried to live somewhat morally and ethically, and donated to charity all the time.....

WE have been stabbed in the back...

so our response is that perhaps we'll just stop being the patsies anymore....

forget our charity....

squeeze your tax bill ...be inventive like others...

starve the economy....

and please, don't offer up your sons and dtrs to the military.....

WE'VE BEEN USED!!!!!

Why punish those organizations which had nothing to do with electing a Marxist government?....Maybe you’d be punishing the recipients of those donations. Generally 85% of your donation goes to overhead anyways. If you can stiff the Federal Goubbmint for tax purposes, ( you don’t need proof until you get audited), donate only to those you know steal the most.

As others pointed out - it depends on the charity. Pro Life organizations don’t get gov’t handouts and deserve donations. There are others like that - any charity that also receives from the gov’t ought to receive your prescribed treatment.

I didn’t know that they had stores. I will look some up in Houston and take a shopping trip to see just what they have.

Thanks for the heads up.

I love the military but I think you are right. The repubs have used, abused, and abandoned the military. They don’t even stand up for anyone in the military.

The Rev. Mozell Sanders Dinner in Indianapolis used to be a charity Thanksgiving Meal for the poor. Now it’s just a black Democrat political event, with free food for 40,000 Obama voters.

They have only reached 1/3rd of the goal needed to pay for it this year. Too bad, let them rot...

—”We will give only to those in our family who have lost their jobs and are trying to survive. That will take all our “charitable giving.” I’d suggest that prudent people save their money for their own future unemployed family members.”—

I feel the same way! I am far more mean and angry though. Several members of my immediate family have abused me for not supporting obama, calling me racist, a Tea Party terrorist, etc. This includes my oldest son and my parents.

In spite of the abuse, I have helped both my parents and still continued to send my son birthday, Easter and Christmas gifts. Holiday cards with money tucked inside as well.

I have decided to harden my heart. I am done. I am silently declaring civil war against any and all who voted for this destruction to our country. Yes, this includes my own son. He has not so much as spoken a word to me in three years, yet has taken all the gifts and money I have sent. My parents take the money and food I gave and then tell me how bad a person I am for not supporting the socialist point of view. How I am trying to “take away the rights” of poor people who cannot be expected to help themselves....because they are too poor. This while their hands are held out to take the money from MY household being offered to them with no strings attached, nor expectation of repaying or even common gratitude.

No. More.

There will be no more to the church pantry’s either. If my husband (a devout Catholic) wants to donate in the collection plate, I will not hold that against him of course. But other than that and giving to the monks at the Hermitage, there will be ZERO dollars given. There will be ZERO food donations. There will be ZERO toys for tots donations. BTW, I’ve known dozens of people over the years who scam toys for tots big time. These people had good jobs, decent homes, and applied to toys for tots with fake income info just to get the “extra” toys for “free”.

No. These program people, these big government dependent people can do without my money. Maybe if the cupboard was bare they would go take the jobs away from the illegals and we could solve two problems at one time.

More of us need to establish our families as “charitable trusts”, as did Rahm Emmanuel

Then we can give money to the causes we choose and deduct it from taxable income

and like Rahmbo, can also designate our homes as the HQ of “charitable trusts” and deduct expenses

we can also designate ourselves and spouses and family as “trustees”, “directors” etc and reimburse ourselves- within reason of course

this is how the wealthy shelter their wealth and live the good life tax free, surely there is room in the game for ordinary people

The problem is that most of the management of the non-religious charities - along with their Boards - are uniformly liberal (Red Cross, U Way, among many, many others).

Starve them, they’ll have to let employees go. Maybe a lesson liberals need to learn. Every dollar they receive is the result of productive labor that they deride and diminish. This must include begging letters from academia
There is no moral obligation to fund those who seek our destruction. Deny them the funds generated from a system they deem corrupt and immoral.

I’ve always donated to Catholic Charities.

After this year, seeing all the support they gave to Democrats, I’m done...

The sad truth is that most of the people who utilize the services of charities, Christian or otherwise, probably voted for Obama. We have a little girl in Africa that we support, truly a person without means. I might just double-up on giving to her and let my fellow Americans fend for themselves.

Good for you

a lovely Christmas card with a religious message might be an appropriate token for such ungrateful family

Consider making a donation to a local Boy Scout troop and/or animal rescue group, or directly to a hard working family that is trying to stay off the dole

I have given donations to Modest Needs as gifts to honor family members who have enough stuff

I’m saying “Oh yeah, definitely, let me get you a number you can call for my donation. Here it is, 202.456.2121.”

Perfect!
