Smoking is bad because sick smokers cost healthcare dollars, so why not ban Gay parenting?

Doesn’t the Left love to tell us we can’t smoke, drink too much soda, use coconut oil in our popcorn and avoid being overweight and on and on?

Don’t they demand that children be allowed to have condoms in school but not aspirins?

Now based on the findings of a new large sample study conducted by The New Family Structures organization and reported on by the University of Texas, the Left should add same sex parenting, especially lesbian parenting, to its ever growing list prohibitions it dictates to us; but of course it won’t.

The study is a “pull no punches” explanation of the serious problems encountered by adults raised in same-sex households. It is doubtful the Left will like the findings of this study but here are the highlights.

All of those whose lives were examined were adults aged 18 to 39 who had spent all or some of their formative years being parented by a mother or father in a same-sex relationship.

The study determined how these individuals had fared in their lives as adults.

Children raised by lesbians did markedly worst as adults than children of intact two parent families.

Almost 7 in 10 lesbian household respondents were on welfare at one time or another as opposed to 17% of those from traditional families who were in the same category.

The same roughly 4 to 1 ratio held as regards current welfare recipients with 38% of lesbian raised adults still on welfare and just 10% of traditional family raised adults.

While 8% … from traditional families unemployed, 28% or 3 ½ times …of lesbian raised adults were unemployed. When compared to traditionally raised adults, lesbian raised adults were 11 times (2% versus 23%) more likely to have been sexually molested as children……

How about just being homosexual as the average life expectancy of a homosexual is about 46 years of age.

Sustaining the homosexual lifestyle by the taxpayer is not "sustainable"

The debt and deficit is also not "sustainable"

In a green world we must have "sustainability"

Maybe it should just be subjected to high taxes, like tobacco.

I just hope that when they grow up these children will be allowed to sue the adoption agencies, foster home agencies, fertility doctors etc. who have made this situation possible.

But I suspect that somewhere down the road a law will be passed making lawsuits impossible.

This assault on smokers while actually promoting far more dangerous, homosexuality shows the sheer hypocrisy of the left.

If they want to be consistent, they should demand that homosexuals get a license to practice homosexuality and they should be taxed to cover their increased cost to society for their health care.

It would be interesting to see how that correlates to other factors, such as lifelong fidelity. Do half of the mom-dad marriages end during the offsprings’ childhood due to divorce or separation? And how does that compare to same-sex couples? I’d think marital stability would be as important a factor as marital structure.

Let's just make this suggestion:

No military benefits (including paid healthcare) for STD's acquired as a result of "lifestyle" choices. It would be pretty easy to identify those ineligible since they were so hot on being gay and serving openly.

Then, since we are cutting these benefits out of the military, it would be unfair not to apply the same standard to the civilian population.

So true. Most of the data I've seen on smoking indicate it will reduce the average lifespan by 10 or 12 years or roughly half of what happens to an active practicing homosexual.

If people are nothing more than animals who are stuck with the sexual identity which they are born with, then they are equally stuck with their innate craving for tobacco or alcohol or drugs.

Works for me but I want homosexuality to be taxed.

“How about just being homosexual as the average life expectancy of a homosexual is about 46 years of age.”

Of course, in a study such as this, this factoid might make homosexuals a net positive for society insofar as they’ll have contributed much more to Social Security and Medicare than they take out. Smokers definitely are a net plus to SS for this reason. However, any such advantage could be quickly outweighed to the extent that homosexuals have a higher propensity to collect SS disability payments. I just don’t know the statistics on the latter.

I’ve always supported a sodomy tax that funds AIDS research.

Excellent point. In fact, the vast majority of "gay father" or "lesbian mother" respondents were the children of a straight marriage that ended when the mother or father had a homosexual fling and then abandoned the family. This calls into question what effect this study is actually measuring.

It's not news that kids from broken homes don't fare well.

That's what I was thinking. Most of these kids are not acquiring homosexual parents via infant adoption or IVF-type breeding technologies. Most of them are the offspring of a normal, heterosexual union, followed by a divorce, followed by the custodial parent moving in with a same-sex partner in an kind of parody of remarriage. The whole situation is unstable and abnormal in more ways than one.

I saw a scenario like this: mom and dad divorce, then dad (and pre-teen daughter) form a new household with dad's boyfriend. Talk about being set up for suffering. I feel sorry for the kids --- well, for everyone in these messed-up situations.

Well, accepting the life expectancy numbers in this thread is fine with me. However there is a big problem in the "health care" side of the equation.

The Canadian health system does what such things do best which is accumulate statistics and they have arrived at a surprising conclusion.

Those who live good, healthy, heterosexual, non-smoking, non-drinking, drug free lives do live a lot longer.

At the same time they have much longer end of life health care requirements and end up costing more than the abusers.

Spending money on AIDS research is like spending money on finding a prevention for liver damage in alcoholics.
