I think it’s good to do everything on the backs of seniors. Too many of us and the costs can only get higher.

I think we could decimate seniors every 30 days and get rid of the impact of the baby boom.

Unfortunately when I was younger I was not as smart as you and I paid into these programs. Now that I’m 66 I rely on them to live.

Smart too late!

Yeah they should all be my slaves.

My reading is that doctors on the review panels will not have the patients best interest in mind.

May I refer you to the death panel threads. I’m not an expert on OBcare or the current system for that matter.

look at the earlier post. Screening may be as experience as treatment. Looks like we’ll have to catch a symptom early to get to the treatment process.

I am certainly benefiting from the “old” system.

Those doctors will be apparatchiks.

Remember that the medical community under the NAZI’s were only too happy to conduct killing off undesirables for the regime.

At a clinic here in Louisville,Ky they have already dropped cancer patients because medicare has deemed them terminal. This came from a nurse that worked there.

In January I’ll be 5 years post-op for pancreatic cancer and in March it will be my 3 year anniversary for prostate cancer surgery. I have a few other issues as well.(Agent Orange did a pretty good job on me.) If 0bamacare had started 6 years ago I have no doubt I’d be dead now.

PS: My prognosis is very good because all of the cancer is inside the prostate.

My understand is the general rule is the earlier to diagnosis the better chance of remission.

May God bless you.

I had a friend at work who was exposed and probably died from it. Was in his late 30s. They were still trying to get the government to acknowledge the effects.

I have a few issues too. My aforementioned heart attack and diabetes (totally my fault). The doctors at Scripps have a lottery pool to see what gets me first and when. I think prostate is the least likely.

I’m pretty sure that Medicare is required. You can’t turn it down. If I am wrong, let me know.

Medicare still has an out of pocket payment as private insurance does. I wouldn’t be so hard on those on Medicare - not to be confused with medicaid

Personal charity is fine...great in fact. Socialism always fails. Now, because of socialism, most cannot afford to be charitable and are, in fact, cynical, because that’s what socialism gives us. Our founders great experiment has failed due to the natural greed of the human animal. The more people I meet the more I love my dogs.

Which article and section of the Constitution do you feel authorizes the federal government to "require" medicare?

In anticipation of your response, let me include a letter from James Madison discussing the "general welfare" clause:

"With respect to the two words "general welfare," I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators. If the words obtained so readily a place in the "Articles of Confederation," and received so little notice in their admission into the present Constitution, and retained for so long a time a silent place in both, the fairest explanation is, that the words, in the alternative of meaning nothing or meaning everything, had the former meaning taken for granted."

No, you shouldn’t apologize or change anything. The system is supposed to help people like you. Sometimes people forget that - they let their anger for _____________ with ________ children by ____________ daddies who never paid into the system and never will override their compassion. Thank you for your service to this country and get well soon.

Think the title is a bit over done..a looming epidemic? Give me a break.

According to the most recent data, when including all men with prostate cancer:

The relative 5-year survival rate is nearly 100%
The relative 10-year survival rate is 98%
The 15-year relative survival rate is 91%
