RE :”Passing the under 250K is a must. The problem with your theory after that is the polling and the business community. First you want to obstruct again. The polling shows by 60-30 not negotiating it will be the republicans fault. Second problem is the business community does not want that either. Go against them and lose funding.

What I am about to say will not be popular but I hope it makes sense.”

Heretic!!! You will be burned at the stake :)

I think you point out some valid problems, and I believe that you are right that many business people would rather accept an Obama poison pill like having their own taxes raised if they can get a pro-business tax reform out of it.

Meanwhile you got a number of ‘burn the house down to get rid of the pests’ Republicans who seem to be demanding middle class tax increases in the name of ‘business owners’

But you have to realize that O doesnt negotiate, He crushes congressional Rs in the voters view by using the above foolish Republicans and then dictates his terms of surrender, and then wins. its pathetic.

If we had two different parties, they would do exactly what you're advocating.

I’ll assume you posted before seeing my follow-up edit of 2 years, but to clarify...

The power to not fund a single thing Obama did. The power of the purse to halt ALL action in the house and totally freeze/lock any legislation until Obama governed within his authority.

They lacked one thing. The Balls.

Bohner could have ground everything to a halt. And what would he have lost compared to what he ultimately did? Better question...What would America have been saved from?

I think there are a few TRILLION answers to that question. One of which is this. The GOP house members were not elected to make popular choices, nor are they guaranteed to keep their cushy jobs. They were hired to do the right thing.

Now if anyone can dispute the above factually and logically I would love to see it.

If the get their way, they will have the same success that Don Quixote had with windmills.

(Howard) Dean: "The Truth Is Everybody Needs To Pay More Taxes, Not Just The Rich"

And eventually Dean will be proved right (because govt. will not reform entitlements in time), but in the short term anybody who says the emperor has no clothes will lose elections.

I saw Dean say that, that we all need to pay more taxes, on MSNBC yesterday I think. Chris Hayes says it too.

Apparently a bunch of uber conservatives are calling for this too, “lets go off the cliff. tax increase on everyone”
Reminds me of “default, default, shut it dwon, shut it down’

Lets face it, Republicans keep repeating that tax cuts on only the rich is not enough to dent the deficit, so???

They think this is a great argument for what? What Howard Dean recommends? Esp since Obama shows little interest in the problem.

This is why taxes are going up, arguments like that.

Do you know what debt is?

Yes, debt is something owed. It can be money, loyalty, gratitude, just about anything.

Are there any other words that I can help you with?
