One as yet unanswered question about Newton: Did Nancy Lanza own a gun safe?
one man's opinion...

Posted on 12/18/2012 2:44:18 PM PST by ken5050

We are just starting to learn a great deal about Adam and Nancy Lanza, probably far, far more than we really care to. We've been told about Adam just getting his driver's license, Nancy's newly rediscovered passion for firearms and shooting, how Adam was a near genius in some ways, how he lived in the basement of his mother's home, decorated with military type posters, how much alimony she received. One simple thing we have yet to be told: Did Nancy Lanza own a gun safe?

You have no evidence that bad parenting is responsible for this heinous crime.

Acquaintances struggled with fathoming the deadly actions being attributed to someone they had known.

Alex Israel was in the same class at Newtown High School with Adam Lanza, who lived a few houses down from her.

“You could definitely tell he was a genius,” Israel told CNN, adding she hadn’t talked with him since middle school. “He was really quiet, he kept to himself.”

His former bus driver, Marsha Moskowitz, told CNN affiliate WABC that he was “a nice kid, very polite” like his brother.

“It’s a shock to even know (the family),” she said. “You can’t understand what happened.”

A former classmate told CNN affiliate WCBS that Adam Lanza “was just a kid” — not a troublemaker, not antisocial, not suggesting in any way that he could erupt like this.

“I don’t know who would do anything like this,” the classmate said, before walking away distraught. “This is unspeakable.”

You have no evidence that bad parenting is responsible for this heinous crime.

tell me you are joking please?

Everyone who commits murder or rape etc is always nice or quiet or to themselves.

Fact is you can watch and read CNN as much as you want but if you want to tell me and my wife with over 30 years working wiht kids for my wife and 10 with me and having kids, and seeing my kids friends and what they tell me we’re wrong then you can put your head in the sand as much as you want or you can get defensive as much as you want for some reason.

Seen first hand. wifes ex boss.
wife gets kid ready for school
wife takes kids
wife cleanhouse
wife does laundry
wife gets kids from school
wife feeds kids
wife does homework with kids
wife see nice little kids growing up telling mother to f off.
see kids having no respect\sees kids getting anything they want but no love
sees boss coming home getting some wine and pills, telling kids to watch TV as she is tired, kicks off shoes
today she has learned that those kids are off the wall, hit teachers and are on drugs

MMMWonder why they are like they are, maybe mother should not have bought kids from another country and raised them or there lack of if she was never going to do her job and that is a parent.

OH and your CNN info does not even go with what has been told

mother takes kid to gun range
mother has guns not locked up
mother tells people she might be losing him
mother tells baby sitter, watch him don;t turn your back at aged 11

Oh I don;t know head in sand or admit many parents today would rather ignoe their first job and that is being a parent.

Again you ignore how the attacks on the traditional family and morals were in line when society was going to crap

Bad parenting is not the issue. Bad decisions by the parent is.
Teaching a disabled young man how to use weapons, for whatever
reason, was a bad decision. This freak could not have purchased a
weapon legally due to to his disability.
And the report that she was trying to have him committed and did not
place those weapons with a friend, until she could have him committed
was another fatal decision.
Bad parent no. Bad decisions yes.

agree.

She told others she was losing him and yet took him to a gun range and I would likfe ot know why she bought the gun.
Was it because she wanted to get closer to her son and be a friend and thought if she buys the gun for him he will move closer or did this CT school teacher woman just love guns?

If so she must be in the only 5 women CT school teachers who likes AR’s.

Mass shooter Luke Woodham explained...

“I am not insane, I am angry. I killed because people like me are mistreated every day. I did this to show society, push us and we will push back. ... All throughout my life, I was ridiculed, always beaten, always hated. Can you, society, truly blame me for what I do? Yes, you will. ... It was not a cry for attention, it was not a cry for help. It was a scream in sheer agony saying that if you can’t pry your eyes open, if I can’t do it through pacifism, if I can’t show you through the displaying of intelligence, then I will do it with a bullet. “

I think Adam Lanza alone is responsible for Adam Lanza’s actions.

LOL I know you do , that;s is obvious so does CNN after watching them, hell the left are never going to admit that their attacks on the traditional family have failed are they.

What the left cannot accept is that for this person to get to what he did he went through different stages in his life, no use taking the kid to a gun range when she admits he;s not all there .

Sounds like mother thought shooting might bring them together, getting him guns if it;s what he wanted and I htink so was not a smart move.
Worrying baout a kid any kid in his later life after ignoring him and not raising him wiht morals, discipline etc would never work.

Like I said my wife and I have seen this modern aprenting and it;s failures so many times, remember CNN etc will never admit their agenda failed and they now have another agenda and it;s guns

My sister was good at school my brother grew up with another family

I joined the military at 16 and had the crap kicked out of me off older guys, I was brought down to earth and the miltiary taught me respect.

But if she left these weapons around the house, unsecured, not locked in a gun safe, then everything that happened at Newton is on her. Period. For that was completely inexcusable.

Agreed. And she paid with her life.

perhaps she looked at her social outcast, skinny son and thought that maybe he needed to learn about guns to protect himself as he went out into the world.

Just heard on the news that she was starting thelegal process to be named his guardian, so that she could have him committed involuntarily. He knew about it, and was very upset. So there’s a strong motive. However, if she felt he needed to be institutionalized, then she she should removed all the guns from the home. Again, was there a gun safe?

>Even a genius kid can’t get into a well-made gun safe.<

http://home.howstuffworks.com/home-improvement/household-safety/security/safecracking.htm

Safecracking does take intellect. A genius kid could very well get into a safe. Perhaps he simply rigged a hidden camera and got the code as his unsuspecting mother opened the safe.
