Liberals use Newton killings to push gun control agenda

In the wake of a tragedy, there is always a call from some politicians to “do something.” Our country is witnessing the same sort of reaction to the Newtown, Connecticut school massacre. Ever since the murder of 27 people on Friday by 20 year old Adam Lanza, liberals across the country have been calling for more gun control.

It is despicable that liberals like Michael Moore and New York Senator Chuck Schumer are trying to take political advantage from a true tragedy. Sadly, Democrats such as California Senator Dianne Feinstein have no shame and are already promising to introduce a bill to restrict the right of Americans to purchase assault weapons.

They need something new as they have worn the race card.

Liberals can ‘call for gun control’ till their blue in the face, but the rest of the country obviously isn’t buying it.

Remember the liberals motto...”Never let a crisis go to waste”.

I predict that if there is an all out ban on guns (Another Odombo “Executive Order”), there will be civil war. It’s coming and just a matter of time.

Okay, libs, how about this: those of us who want firearms can keep them, and in return we promise not to use them to defend you.

It’s time to tell left wing idiots like these to go stuff it, don’t even debate them. And get on the phone with your representatives particularly in the rural area’s “most urban politicians are a waste of time” and tell them there is no compromising your 2nd amendment rights or they’ll be voted out of office.

And conservatives should be using Newton to protest Hollywood and the MSM fpr promoting violent movies, TV shows, and video games and the ACLU and similar organizations for opposing legislation designed to get mentally ill people off the street and into mental installations. We should literally take to the streets and occcupy the ACLU offices in NYC, Washington, DC, Hartford, etc.. Steal a chapter from their own playbook and put these thugs on the defensive.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Sad truth is, outside of the white male demographic, there is no great love in America for assault weapons and high-cap magazines and demographic changes haven't exactly been in our favor. This isn't the same country as it was in 1994.

I'm trying to remain optimistic but some of the outrage I've been hearing lately isn't giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

The ranges around here are used by all kinds of people. Mostly male, I'll grant you, but by no means white only.

Also, there is a great deal of pushback on forums, letters to editor, etc as well. Much more than I see on other 'conservative' issues.

I guess we shall see. I don't think public opinion matters a great deal to these people anyways.

With all due respect, a movie is less capable of killing someone than a gun. An untrained user can drop a movie, it won't go off accidentally. I'm sure some wise soul will lecture me on dropping a gun and the technical merits of it firing or not, but R's and D's both want to control us. Just different aspects of our lives. IMO, the debate is - just leave us the F alone. We don't want to or need to ban anything.

There's going to be a lot of pushback. But will it be enough? You can bet right now Democrats, particularly Senate Democrats are sitting around with their poll aggregate whiz kids, crunching the numbers and asking themselves if an AWB will cost them their majority as it did in '94?

Will an AWB cost the Dems the Senate? I don't know. What I do know is that at the very least it will cost them some seats. So Democrat Senators and Congressman from pro-gun states need to ask themselves which among them will be the sacrificial lambs, voting 'yes' on Dianne Feinstein's "feel-good" assault weapons ban knowing that it will cost them (and not Feinstein) their political careers?

Hopefully there won't be enough willing to make such a sacrifice for Feinstein's tiresome crusade.

Yeah, at 79 with a 6 year term in front of her Feinstein is going for her legacy now. Miserable old crony.

what we need to do instead of controlling the purchases of guns is control the purchases of bullet proof vests! all of these mass murderers always seem to buy one! Shouldn’t the seller of these vests wonder why some weirdo would need one? the vest purchase would tip me off to a mass murder more than the purchase of a gun!
