In the wake of the recent Sandy Hook shooting, I reached out to my contacts in law enforcement, military and (retired) FBI over the last three days, asking three simple questions:
#1) Do you think Obama will use executive orders to demand nationwide gun confiscation?
#2) If such an order is given, will you or fellow members of your organization enforce it against the citizens? (And if so, how?)
#3) What is the solution to stopping future mass shootings?
I posed these questions to one ex-FBI agent, one retired Sheriff's deputy, two active duty city police detectives, one retired former police captain of a major U.S. city, two U.S. Army veterans and one USMC veteran, discharged several years ago after two tours in Afghanistan during which he sustained a severe personal injury. For obvious reasons, none of them wish to be identified by name, but their answers below speak to their credibility and authenticity.

I was born and raised in California and have lived here my whole life. My father was a Marine Corps gunnery sergeant and a Korean War veteran. One of my uncles landed at Utah Beach at Normandy in WWII and earned two bronze stars and his brother was with the 1'st Marine Div. on Guadal Canal. I am 52 years old and have been hunting, shooting, reloading, collecting, restoring, carrying, firearms since the cradle and will continue to the grave. I will not turn in any type of firearm to any agency under any circumstance for any reason provided, either requested or at the point of a gun or threat of arrest. I will use my weapons to defend against any such tyranny and with a clear conscience defy anyone attempting to carry out any illegal order in clear violation of the second amendment and my God given rights. That for me is the rubicon crossing for once free men give up arms there is no one left to defend freedom. I will be dammed if some evil little sob becomes an excuse and a catalyst for larger evils to be spawned and unrestricted power and control be granted to anyone other than free men.
Everyone I know feels the same way, how about you? I have already seen it happen in California when they banned Chinese and War Saw pact semi auto SKS rifles. I did not own one but hundreds of thousands were already owned when they were banned and nobody turned them in. Little is talked about that. You could count with one set of fingers how many out of half a million rifles that were turned in and given up within California. I have two family members in law enforcement who would refuse to enforce any confiscation orders.
My grandfathers, uncles, father, are all in the grave and warned me this day could come. They all either gave blood and/or fought for this nation and our freedoms. My heritage goes back to the founding of this nation and have had family fight in every war this nation has engaged in from its founding, on its own soil, and on foreign shores. I would not shy away from that responsibility to defend the freedom my family has fought and bleed to preserve, so help me God.
All the President needs to do is establish an Executive Order that stops "gun checks" from being performed by the federal authorities. Without them, NO weapons will be sold through an FFL. The FFLs will shortly all shut down their businesses, cutting off commercial supply.
Who is going to stop the EO? The Senate? The Courts? Congress? Don't make me laugh. Nothing to stop him will happen without Senate approval - even impeachment. 0bama is currently immune from checks and balances, period!
Part of said Executive Order would be establishing penalties on selling, owning, or possessing a plethora of weapons, magazines, etc., but not all. It would also establish the machinery to prevent a "black market" on guns, ammo, parts, accessories. The federal agencies to do it are already there and up and running.
Eventually, piecemeal, many weapons owners would be come criminals. Lock 'em up! The examples will be plentiful and include serious jail time. After many are cowed, eventually promise "amnesty" to those who turn in their "illegal" weapons, ammo, accessories, etc. - or face more draconian penalties.
It won't be a show of force like the British marching on Lexington and Concord. It will be destroying gun owners - one at a time. Armed resistance is unlikely to coalesce but if it does it is put down in a decisive and deadly way (remember Waco, Ruby Ridge?).
It will be a piecemeal takeover, not one that would likely start an armed revolt which confiscation or a wholesale ban would do. In about 10 years the "frog" will slowly boil and then die. The few remaining stragglers will then be stamped out as they surface.
Of course criminals, gangbangers, and drug gangs will still have their weapons and plenty of them. Any use of a firearm against them by "civilians" would continue to reveal misscreants who will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Honest citizens in Mexico are almost completely disarmed. Look how well it has worked out for them. Do you think their government cares they are sitting ducks with no means of self-defense and are being murdered in the thousands?
Why would our government be any different? It will be run by the same type of corrupt and power mad people?
Anyhow, that is how I see it possibly playing out. I hope I am just having a little nightmare and I will wake up soon.

No, the army didn’t conduct a recent survey. The last survey done was in the 1990s when boy Clinton was infesting the Whitehouse. That survey, conducted by a Naval officer, polled Marines. Sixty-four percent said that they wouldn’t obey orders to shoot their mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters in their beds.
That means that most Marines aren’t goosestepping gestapo. I’ll extrapolate that result and apply it to our comrades in the Army.
The only correct bit of info is that 18-year-old boots and privates might - possibly - be willing to obey orders. That attitude will be corrected by platoon sergeants and company captains.
Now, can we finally, once and for all, stop this GD inference that our military brothers and sisters are goosestepping gestapo mass murderers? I’ve had it up to my eyeballs with certain FReepers insisting that our soldiers and Marines are mindless Nazi killers.

I work with an Iraqi war vet. He told me about the recent survey. He’s hard core conservative. I was in during Clinton’s term and Bush’s. I never saw such a thing personally. I know some soldiers would have complied and others who would have joined our side immediately. I was Army infantry. My buddy was Army medic. It would be civil war/revolution either way and the country would not endure which is what leftists want anyways.

The retired police captain told me that, "Door-to-door confiscation by men and women in blue [i.e. city cops] would be a suicide mission." If ordered to conduct such gun confiscation actions, many would simply resign on the spot rather than risk their lives in firefights with determined gun owners, he explained. "Our officers are not generally willing to assume the increased risk of such a police action."

Sometimes, it would seem nice to visit the past with the calls during interesting times to avoid starting panics. It would probably help with election campaigns, too, to bring some of those voices forward.
Whatever...maybe I need to calm down, let the noisier political speech of today flow, write another concise letter or two to add to the politicians’ pro-Second-Amendment bins and otherwise watch the crazy picture show of contemporary politics.

Here, in the State where some temporary legislative ugliness could really happen (CO), we need to let ‘em know that the Second Amendment still has enough overwhelming support to show that votes are more important than clumps of extra money from the fascists. It’s possible—without more freedom-oriented candidates (including repeals of many other anti-freedom regulations, fees and taxes)—that we’ll be voting against some of the incumbents every term for some time to come.

Actually, fags know the importance of self defense. If Christians are targeted under the guise of gun control, they’d do it.
Yet it happened in Australia and not a single COP quit or got shot by a citizen. People are sheep.
I lived in Australia and the reason that they rolled over was that the amount of privately owned guns were minuscule compared to the USA and they never had a 2nd Amendment.
WE on the other hand, are descended from English stock that rebelled AND won against a tyrannical British sovereign. Australians are descended from prisoners of his majesty. And yes, I did point that out a few times to my Australian friends when they got mouthy about our country.
300 Million guns in the USA is a conservative estimate. How many gun owners? How many will not allow their freedom taken away? Lot's of dead cops and THEY KNOW IT.
