Gun control advocates deliberately facilitated the murders at Sandy Hook

Advocates of overturning the right to keep and bear arms have spent years DELIBERATELY turning innocents into victims of slaughter for the purpose of disarming the American people.

“Do as I say, not as I do,” gun-control zealots are predictably out in force after the Sandy Hook killings. For in the perverted mind of confiscation supporters like Michael Bloomberg and Barack Obama, the murder of 20 kindergarten students represents a longed-awaited opportunity to embarrass weak-kneed defenders of the 2nd Amendment into relenting to a nationwide assault against the foremost liberty of the American people.

On December 19th, New York Mayor Bloomberg favored USA Today readers with a 6 point guide to “stop gun madness.” (1)

And like every previous claim of the hypocritical...

“Those who sell their liberty for security are understandable, if pitiable, creatures. Those who sell the liberty of others for wealth, power, or even a moment’s respite, deserve only the end of a rope... America’s historic misfortune is that her people have seldom been equal to the ideals upon which their nation was established. “— L. Neil Smith, The American Zone (2001)

I find it very interesting that Bloomberg, Broncho Bammer, Michael Moore and most of the gun haters, gun controllers etc. all seem to have armed body guards. Kinda hypocritical don’tcha think? It really sounds to me like people control.

KNOWING WHAT WE KNOW about any and all of the recent crimes from the headlines, anyone who disarms his patrons, or clients, or employees, should be made to assume FULL RESPONSIBILITY for their security while they are in their “establishments.” If they fail, they should be held accountable in criminal and civil court for why they took responsibility for the safety of others and neglected to provide the reasonable security measures that would have prevented disaster. If you are a business owner or institutional administrator, you are now on notice.

There you have it. Are you responsible for my safety or am I? Having read the news, did you think that posting gun free zone sign was a “reasonable” measure to protect your people?

Just received this in an email. Don’t know if the stats are right, but,,,,

“-— Hi Yanks,
I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in ‘successfully ridding Australian society of guns....’ You won’t see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.
The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it’s too late!
Will you be one of the sheep to turn yours in?”

The accuracy of this essay is obvious.

Even worse, they removed any mention of God from public life, then opened the asylums and turned the mentally ill out onto the streets so that they can murder at will in gun free zones.

Snopes has that one listed. I’ve seen the Australian government’s reported figures and they don’t square with what you posted. My guess is, this is bait from progressives to bring light to the real numbers provided by the Australian government and made to embarrass conservatives.

All Freepers need to be made aware of the new favorite tactic by the progressive left. They post fake information to a blog that anyone who does not share their views would support. They then let comments accumulate until they have what they want, then take all those comments and use them as an example of how stupid the believers are. I’m sure there is a clever name for this tactic, probably something similar to “phishing”.

The tactic has been picking up steam and is going to be used a lot in the gun debate. They will be trying to compare the US to other countries using spurious data sets to support their gun ban agenda.

Yeah! Thanks for finding that out. I’m pretty hopeless with doing searches. The 300% figure made me pause,,,,,,That’s why I included the “Don’t know if the stats are right, but,,,,” in my posting. Again, thanks!
