I missed the part where the police were beating up people.

Looks like a nutjob without some context.

The Marine recognized the nacent jack booted fascism of a Police department under the control of one of the leading liberal fascists in the country, Mayor Bloomberg?
I would like to know more about this incident and whether people were actually assaulted by the NYPD.

It’s unclear who he’s “protecting”.
He looks like a guy ranting on a street corner, trying to get attention.
In fact, he looks and acts slightly deranged.
I’ve seen better acts on WWE.

The guy was ranting about seeing the cops beat on innocent people earlier that day. I suspect he was hanging out with the Occupy Wall Street crowd........

This is part of the OWS protests.
As far as I know, indulging in a political demonstration in uniform is not allowed at all, whether for a retired member, or active duty. This guy may be released from service, or maybe he never was a marine. Who knows. But either way, wearing a uniform to this event is hardly kosher.

An Ex-Marine, a veteran, and one who wears a costume.
Look at his protests and interviews, he wears a partial marine work uniform, with dress ribbons added, a costume.

If you google this guy, you'll find more than a few sites that say Shamar Thomas' real name is Lyaba Ibo Mandingo, an actor, not a Marine.
I've found no actual proof that's true, nor that he served.

Out of work actor looking for a gig or a publicity hound. Doubt that he was ever in the Marines and he’s wearing ribbons on camoflage to tell you that.
Police should be given ribbons for their restraint.
To: Anvilhead
He’s in a rather redressed state for a Marine.
I’m gonna call crazy...

This shows the level of professionalism on the part of the NYPD. In the old days (my time) pre cameras everywhere - this guy would have been told to move along. When he didn't he would have been tuned up and locked up. Not really professional but that's what would have happened.
