Flu infections sweep America hospitalizing thousands leaving 18 children dead ....
(Excerpt) Read more at dailymail.co.uk ...
This was the first time in over twenty years that I got the flu shot and won’t be doing it again. Had a fever of 103 the second night it took another week before I felt good enough to go to the clinic for antibiotics. It’s worth whatever it costs to kick this thing
I didn’t get a flu shot until after my heart attack. And only because of the swine flu that year.
My friends wife , a nurse, said many children died of it that year in our state. More than was reported.
I got the shot.
My wife got the shot.
My toddler and 6 yr olds got the shot.
None of us felt sick, swelled, reacted to the shots at all. And so far, none of us have gotten the flu.
Not being contrarian, just giving voice to the vast, vast majority of Americans who have had the same experience.
I've refused to take a flu shot since Obama was elected....(& I've been fine).....IF Obama says to expect a flu epidemic......I tend not to believe him or his administration.
“”2,257 people have been hospitalized since the start of flu season”
How many of these people are illegals? Just wondering.”
I’m not. Was laid up for 7 days. My wife still has it 9 days later.
This is a nasty one.
The annual flu vaccine is a production gamble. They speculate which strains have the highest odds of appearing the next year and ramp production accordingly - including 1 to 3 strains in the production. This year, they missed, plain and simple. A sub strain of one of the included strains is what is spreading and the vaccine is not effective.
We are continually fed the line of crap that it is our duty to get the flu vaccine on a yearly basis, when in reality, we are only playing the odds. The vaccine has a 1.5% to 10% chance of actually saving you from infection. The CDC promotes a fallacy of 60% effectiveness, but the math doesn’t pan out.
That is not true. It is true only when a new strain emerges, which isn't this year. The vaccination is considered a good match this year for both extant A and B strains. The interim vaccine effectiveness (VE) estimates are good. C strain generally gives only a very mild episode.
Stay healthy.
> Whatd we do? Send out the wrong flu vaccine?
I think the pharmaceutical companies released a bioengineered virus that was a little stronger than they expected
My wife and I received the flu shot about a month and a half ago and our two kids got the vaccine at school and we all tested positive for the flu four days ago. Got to admit though it is the mildest case of the flu I have ever had.
Says this year's vaccine is 98% effective.
Doesn't help her now though. I am flying through with nothing yet....
The Daily Mail is the first place I check for news about America...
Never had a flu shot; never had the flu...just lucky, I guess...

I've spent most of the last week with it. This is a bad one.
And I see enough people around me with it, that I must wonder what would happen if an influenza pandemic comes up that kills. Earth Abides time.
Same here!! The few times before I’ve had a flu shot I had a sore arm for a few days and this time it barely hurt at all.
They don’t prevent heart attacks, they prevent the flu, which in turn prevent respiratory infections, which in turn prevents respiratory infection related heart attacks (not being able to breath is quite hard on the heart). If you already don’t get the flu then you’re not on that path and getting the shot won’t change that. And if you have other things that can cause heart attacks the flu shot won’t help those.
There has been a higher number of flu cases at our county hospital. They are giving free flu shots in three locations. I have only had one flu shot - probably about 35 years ago. Haven’t had one since and don’t plan on getting one now.
No one in my family has every had a flu shot and none of us have ever had the flu. Kids are teens and never had to go to the doctor in their life for any sickness. I seriously don’t remember my kids being sick other than a minor cold. My husband has only been to a dr once in 25 yrs(physical for life insurance) and I only go for a yearly. My Hungarian mom always taught me to build up the immune system and then let it work.
Did you quarantine her or are you chancing your luck about you not getting infected because you received the flu shot?
That must be the bug that got me. Everyone in my house came down sick the day after Christmas, and it's been a nightmare.
I get sick so rarely, that I have a hard time recalling severe illnesses (though I have had them). I've now been an absolute wreck for the last ten days or more. It started with major sniffles, leading to fluid on the lungs and heavy coughing (which hasn't stopped), accompanied by off an on fever spells.
The rest of the family seems to have recovered for the most part, but I'm still coughing my fool head off. My abdominal muscles are just about worn out from over-use. And the pain....I cringe at the very thought of having to cough.
