Obamacare opponents warned that forcing companies employing 50 or more full-time workers to buy healthcare would prompt employers to slash jobs and worker hours. And thats exactly whats happening, says one of President Barack Obamas favorite economists, Mark Zandi of Moodys Analytics.
It will have a negative impact on job creation this year, says Mr. Zandi.
The Obamacare employer mandate doesnt go into effect until January 1, 2014, but the government requires businesses to track worker schedules for three to 12 months in advance. That means many employers plan to get a jump start on avoiding Obamacares $2,000 per-worker fine by firing workers now, reducing employee hours, or replacing full-time employees with part-time workers.
A survey by the International Franchise Association finds that 31% of franchisees say they plan to cut staff to duck under Obamacares 50-employer mandate. And another study by Mercer consulting firm found that half of businesses who dont presently offer health insurance plan to reduce employee hours to avert triggering Obamacares penalties.
As Breitbart News has reported, Pennsylvania Community College of Allegheny County has already slashed the hours of 400 adjunct instructors, support staff, and part-time teachers to sidestep the Obamacare fines. Doing so will save the already cash-strapped college an estimated $6 million.
Other Obamacare provisions, like the medical devise excise tax, have forced Stryker medical supply to cut 1,170 positions, despite the fact that the founder of the companys grandson was among Mr. Obamas biggest campaign donors....

Probably 95% of them voted for Obama. But I can't take much pleasure from that, because everyone is getting screwed, including my family and friends, and the whole economy is going to tank.
We are so toast . . .
And Hatteras Yachts lays off 105 in NC this week.
Soak the rich, fire the middle class.....
Good heavens, has no other college done this? This particular college's actions keep getting repeated time after time. Makes it seem all alone.
So what is the tax penalty penaltax if they don't?
Let’s say you own “Bob’s Machine Shop” with 52 employees and 2 divisions—engineering, and manufacturing. Could you circumvent the law by starting a new company, “Bob’s Engineering”, then divide the company in two with the machinists staying with the original company and the engineers working for the “new” company?
You would now have two companies, each with fewer than the arbitrary 50 designated in the law.
As a public service I would like to remind these adjunct instructors that although their pay has been cut they will still be required by law to buy health insurance or pay the Federal penaltax.
Commune Obamanation File.
We are all Zombies now - - - - .
If anyone wants to see how workers are treated in a liberal utopia, just talk to some adjunct instructors. McDonalds workers are probably paid more, and they don't require master's degrees or more.
More work than it’s worth. Fire 3 and make the 49 work harder.
He knew...
Cheers! ; )
Obamacare is going to implode.
The legislation calls for the poor to be assisted in affording health insurance through the exchanges. Thirty some-odd states have already indicated they’re not going there. This leaves the Feds to provide an exchange, the funds for which were not authorized in the legislation.
We have the House, the Fed exchange will not be funded, meaning the poor will squeal like stuck pigs if the mandate is implemented. This means the mandate cannot be implemented in a consequence-free manner for the Democrats.
The Supreme Court upheld the mandate, but took away the ability of the feds to coerce the states into complying by declaring that Medicaid could not be withheld from the states.
Without the mandate, insurance companies have what is known as “adverse selection”, in other words, they will have to astronomically raise prices. I don’t think people will put up with it. There will be a “cliff” soon, if Obama doesn’t kick the can down the road, or sit down and negotiate for the reforms Republicans have already suggested. If Obama is obstinate, and he may well be, he will kill the Democratic party.
A huge rift is coming, no, a train wreck, in my opinion, between Obama and his own party.
