The five Wiltshire lads who made up the individually-eponymous British group 'Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick, & Titch' -also know by the acronymic moniker 'DDDBMT' formed a talented pop group who from 1965-1969 spent more time on the UK singles chart than even the Beatles. 

The band had first come together in 1961, and after being paired with a pair of talented songwriters by their record label, success in the UK, Australia, NZ, and Germany was considerable -inc. two #1, million-selling singles- though they never really did fully catch-on in the States, where their best effort was #52 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 'Zabadak'.

In an extremely odd twist of history, lead singer Dave Dee was still an aspiring musician and employed as an policeman in the UK in 1960 when he was first responder to the auto accident scene that killed famed rock pioneers Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent in the midst of a UK tour, and it was Dee who secured Cochran's car from the wreckage in order to ensure it's safe return to the relatives...

I mentioned this group to my husband a while ago and he didn’t believe that such a name existed. I’ll have to show this to him when he gets home :-).

This is my absolute favourite song of theirs, “Hold Tight” - on Blue Peter, for Pete’s Sake!

The song to which you linked seems to be a different song entitled "All I Want to Do." "All I Want", their second single, came out in early 1966 and seems to reflect the influence of US "folk rock," which had reached its peak at the time.

"Zabadak" got some airplay on the "original" KRLA in the early months of 1968. It took me a long time to figure out the title--I thought the word they were singing was "Skagerrak".
