In the Energy Debate between Palin and Obama...Obama Lost
American Thinker ^ | January 19, 2013 | Professor Ben Voth

"You know we can't just drill our way to lower gas prices. If we're going to take control of our energy future, and can start avoiding these annual gas price spikes that happen every year when the economy starts getting better, world demand starts increasing, turmoil in the Middle East or some other parts of the world, if we're going to stop being at the mercy of these world events, then we need a sustained, all-of-the-above strategy that develops every available source of American energy - oil, gas, wind, solar, and nuclear, and biofuels, and more."

President Obama made these remarks in February of 2012 at the University of Miami. The President was criticizing the longstanding argument of political rival Sarah Palin, who urges the nation to "drill, baby, drill."

Palin expounded on these sentiments in 2010:

Although the Left chooses to mock the mantra of "drill, baby, drill," and they ignorantly argue against the facts pertaining to the need for America to responsibly develop her domestic supply of natural resources, surely they can't argue the national security implications of relying on foreign countries to extract supplies that America desperately needs for industry, jobs, and security. Some of the countries we're now reliant upon and will soon be beholden to can easily use energy and mineral supplies as a weapon against us.

In 2011, in an interview with the CBS affiliate WTKR in Hampton Roads, Virginia, the president contradicted his own remarks suggesting that oil prices cannot be lowered by arguing:

"We're talking to oil producers around the world and letting them know it's in their interest to make sure that high oil prices don't end up hurting the world economy."

Of course, in this case, anyone can increase drilling and lower oil prices...

Easy answer.

Almost all attacks on Gov. Palin were organized by
RINO-Romney-the-Weak in his savaging of conservatives
for his partner, Soros.

She is also the most important irrelevant figure in America today! :)

Well, it was obvious enough at the time that Sarah won the debate, in the sense that she was right and Obama was wrong.

But in another sense, Obama won the debate. He got elected and re-elected, even though what he was doing was destructive. As he pointed out after the first election, “I won.” So he was empowered to do whatever he liked. It’s destroying the economy? That’s his aim.

And most people still don’t understand what’s going on. Gas prices have doubled, but no one seems to blame Obama but us Freepers. You certainly don’t read anything about it in the press or hear about it on TV.

Every time I see a picture of Governor Palin it makes me want to high-five her husband for being such a fortunate guy. Every time I hear her speak it makes me want to write her name on a ballot somewhere.

I’m massively confidant that in both cases, that statement is false.

Mendacity stole the elections, and stole at least three senate seats too in 2010.

Well, I think he stole this last election. And there was certainly cheating in the earlier one, too.

But there are more than one way to win, unfortunately. And the Pubbies never did anything much to fight or question those wins. It seemed as if McCain and Romney both wanted to lose.

Obama is kind of like Lenin or Hitler. It’s not a sign of approval to say that they were both pretty good at gaining power and persuading a lot of their countrymen that they’d make good leaders. Hitler even got elected—once.

I concur. Was it a ‘fix?’

I don’t think Romney or McCain wanted to lose.....the GOP party lost both elections. The leaders of the republican party didn’t like Ron Paul and so they tried to fix the delegates at the convention, and that made the Paul folks mad; and before that, the elites in the party wanted McCain to be the nominee and he was a loser from the git go.

Just because the MSM doesn't report it, doesn't mean it isn't there. The image that the MSM projects of America is a mirage.

More Americans than not are on the same general page of FReepers. But they, like FReepers, are ignored by the MSM. Liberalism is over-represented in the MSM and it has many limited government Americans (I hesitate to call them "conservatives" or "Republicans") wrongly convinced that their like-minded compatriots don't exist. LIKEWISE, it has the left wrongly convinced that they themselves aren't as small as they actually are. That is to our advantage, if we will only recognize it.

Obama got elected and re-elected because Democrats CHEAT in myriad ways, and have been doing so for decades.

He will enter the fray unarmed, and he will never know it. Yes, THAT unarmed.

Ever since Dole, I’ve labeled the weak, GOPe candidates the “designated losers.”

They’ve been infiltrated and sold out and are not in it for Conservatism or Conservatives to win.

What gets me is how cruel the demwits are. They put on the “we’re losing” dog-and-pony show until they got their hands on the dead voters and the voting machines and “won,” crushing the optimistic expectations (from the polls) of the Republicans, and crowing and just generally being really poor winners.

In a word, unAmerican. It is a mode in which they have continued.
