Brownback was and is little more than a RINO.
But we have Conservatives on the Local levels that push him to do these sorts of things.
Proud to be from and in Kansas.
P.S. I heard on KMBZ that Missouri is going ape over this, but the Democrats say don't worry it will cause Kansas to have a deficit. Lols!
Use a waterhose and soap on Lawrence, and chase the feral entitlement zombies out of Topeka and Wichita, and Kansas would be more conservative than a John Birch convention.
I like to see this for Colorado but no chance right now unless the GOP controls the legislature and the Governor’s mansion again.
Hell you could look at practically any election map and if you see a little blue dot in a sea of red. You can bet your bottom dollar that their is a University there.
Either that or Major Cities, that is why Jefferson abhorred them. A vast swath of non self reliant people susceptible to Class War rhetoric.
OMG NH, what the hell happened to you???
(Retorical question; I know the answer: Massholes)
New Hampshire’s REAL problem is New Yorkers...much worse than Massh*les...
There’s no better example of the obtuseness of libs like Frank who legitimately wonder why many Americans refuse to be wards of the state. “Don’t you want all the “freebies” government will give you?” they bleat. NO! and HELL NO!
SHOW ME that giant suckin’ sound...
While eliminating the income tax is good, I am looking for a state that will eventually eliminate domicile property taxes. This means if you have a primary residence on a given maximum amount of land, say one acre, you are exempt from property taxes. Anything beyond that is not exempt.
The big, philosophical purpose of this is the restoration of the idea that people *own* their homes and their land, *not* that they just “lease” them from the government, for which they have to perpetually pay “rent” in the form of property taxes.
This would not be open to corporations or investors, or renters, and a property owner would have to be a 6 months and 1 day legal resident of that state and county and live on that property.
In addition, the home and land could be in a family trust, so it would be exempt from inheritance tax as well.
Exactly, Y! Kansas property taxes are INSANE.
Now, I heard everything from LIBERALS: paying an income tax is a 'pursuit of HAPPINESS??' Really??
If that is the case, I'll be sad!!
You mean those ahole senators from NY like Kennedy?
The problem is the Kansans the ‘rats are referring to pursue happiness on somebody else’s nickel.
MO is really going nuts over this, as well as the fact that KS wants to end their corporate income tax as well. There have been LOTS of radio advertisements I’ve heard about this.
Oh, and KS is a Right to Work state, while MO is still a wholly owned subsidiary of the unions.
It’s driving the lefties crazy!
Mark
Looking at your map, you hit the nail on the head...
In KS, that blue dot is Lawrence (and maybe Manhattan) KS, home of KU (and K-State). The rest of the state is pretty conservative, with the possible exceptions of Johnson & Wyandotte counties (Metro Kansas City MO & KS.)
If you look right next door, MO has 3 hard core blue areas... Kansas City and St Louis, as well as Columbia in the center of the state, home of Missou (University of Missouri.)
Mark
when you look at the map, even in some of the blue states you’ll see red...(CA,OR, WA, CT (Litchfield County) NY, PA) and even some of the blue is not dark... (ME, OR, WA, FL)
Gotta be proud of Oklahoma...........
But you are right you can see the Democrat Enclaves from St. Louis to Lawrence lols!
Oh, and KS is a Right to Work state, while MO is still a wholly owned subsidiary of the unions.
Yep, the defense the dems are getting for not lowering taxes in Missouri is that Tax Cuts cause deficits.
Never mind the fact that the state would get more money if it just took a little bit from everyone instead of a large lump sum from One Person and then that person move away.
They really are that stupid.
Looks like Texas has a severe infection in its southern flank.
