It would be difficult to imagine Kansas property taxes being hiked to the point of the government owning all of the land, but that appears to be the plan of bureaucrats and their friends in government-linked services.

The conservatives counties in NH are along the Mass/NH border; where the conservatives have fled north. The people moving here from suburban NYC have flipped this state into a liberal mecca. You can't let your wives and children go out around the neighborhood anymore due to the foul language being used by the 'imports' during their wild outdoor gatherings. NH now has TWO nasty female Democrat Congresswomen, and another as Governor. Even John Sununu has lamented the number of conservatives fleeing the state to the south and west.
I'm no fan of any New England state, but facts are facts. Please note that I did NOT say 'all NY'ers are ruining NH'...that would be ridiculous.

"This means if you have a primary residence on a given maximum amount of land, say one acre, you are exempt from property taxes."
Might want to make that a primary residence up to 160 acres or so. Let 'em at least have a chance to produce enough to eat on some of the more sterile and cheap lots in the west.

It’s got Missouri talking about a flat tax.
Thank you Kansas!

Meant to say it has Missouri talking about a consumption tax instead of income tax.

We need to start counting electoral votes by counties.
Because once the Illegals turns Texas Blue, we will never EVER win another presidential election ever again.

"Brownback was and is little more than a RINO."
Instead of replying with the usual form letters, he had some nasty things to say to conservative marriage and family advocates during the '90s. He served certain "progressive" influences from Washburn, N.O.W. and remnants of the old mob in southeast KS.

I remember when he was campaigning for Senator back in like 2004 or whenever it was.
He stopped by my Sisters High School and she got to ask him a question on Illegal Immigration and he simply danced around it.
Pitiful.

I heard it said that no revenue stream once created by the state has ever been terminated.
I once believed it, though mostly out of cynicism.
Now, I know it not to be true.
There is hope.

I was thinking of that, but if the land is used for agricultural purposes, I suspect the feds would use that as an excuse to horn in. Granted the state could likely figure out some way around it, to provide them tax abatement, but that can get real deep, real fast, so I wouldn’t want to tie it to residential abatement.
Even as is, I can imagine federal litigation from corporations and speculators that want in on the deal. There are always scoundrels willing to exploit any opportunity to make a buck.

There’s nothing wrong with Kansas that a few less liberals wouldn’t fix.
