TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Police want legislation that would limit their use of drones to include an exception for crowd control.
The sponsor, though, told a Senate committee on Wednesday he would vote against his own bill if such an exception is added.
Sen. Joe Negron, a Stuart Republican, said the exception would have allowed King George to use drones against the Boston Tea Party if the unmanned aircraft had existed in the 18th century.
The Community Affairs Committee unanimously approved the bill (SB 92), although several members urged Negron to consider loosening its restrictions.
The bill would ban the use of drones for law and code enforcement with three major exceptions, including terrorism.

Drones with machine guns for “crowd control”. Hmmmm. Food riots? Race riots? Economic disaster riots? What are they foreseeing in our future?
Yeah, but the current definition of "terrorism" is "Anything the rulers don't like, especially uppity conservatives"!
“crowd control” ... loosely defined as 1 or more people
meanwhile... 1.6 billion rounds have been bought for DHS over the last 10 months
yea, this’ll end well
Crowds terrify our betters. Problem solved.
How many billion rounds have been bought by the general public just since Mr. Obama won the nomination in 2008? Buehler? Buehler?
They should be terrified of the people they abuse around them.
BTW, don't eat the peach cobbler.

Drone use needs to be limited
They will be used to spy on people not catch crooks. If those cop drones aren’t spending 98% of their time in Black neighborhoods you know they aren’t being used to fight crime
I don’t care what the people buy... as the vast maority of those weapons are bought for personal defense
and the govt has the military for country defense.
but ‘homeland security’ can only point their weapons in one direction...
