A lot of those cable channels get paid per subscriber even if nobody watches, they can air all the filth they want. It’s better if millions of us just stop paying them.

How much will you be charged just for the internet? We do the same thing with Comcast only with Roku and Netflix streaming.

Not that it really matters for your current situation, but they might just be looking forward to the new alliance they struck with Roku. From what I know of the deal, Roku users will be able to stream the entire channel offerings for a lower price than what cable costs. The savings are realized if they do not have to eventually maintain and operate the current infrastructure and pay the local taxes as well.

I do see a battle ahead if this gains traction just like the local channels thing with DirecTV. I loved having the ability to see network broadcasts at two different times until the local channels whining about worry of losing revenue brought that to an end and significantly raising the cost of DTV because of all the infrastructure the feds made them add, including satellites, just so every subscriber would get their local broadcasts.

I tried to have it removed from my bill since I use the local antenna now since they went digital, but noooooo.

Total Bill with Internet and TV and two DVR boxes was 165 bucks. The TV part is about $110.00 so our Internet is around $55 a month and that is a 21 Mbps connection on average.

That’s pretty darn good. We have a roof antenna that picks up the signal from Sacramento. Really good quality and for free!

They’ll withhold the cash from your paycheck, just like the Feds do

I dumped TWC TV recently and only use an antenna

I get about 10 very high quality stations with a silly $12 antenna from Radio Shack.

I can watch the simpsons and “bones” and ‘futurama” on TV for free, and this old house and stuff too... I leanred I can live with that and spend more time doing house projects rather than sitting in front of the tube

I have their internet but that sucks lately too- so I am looking for an alternative

I ‘upgraded’ to their best internet service (30Mbps) and the modem sux hard. I was happier with 20Mbps

I don’t understand why cable and Hollywood havesn’t stopped internet pirating.
Everything’s available instantly- and with no ads. And no malware.

I guess the politicians have told them there’s no way they are going to fight the ‘99%ers’ (bums). But then why does Hollywood give politicians all that money?

Good for you... Very encouraging, too. How in the world will you get along without all those mind-numbing TW in-house advertisements? You won't be part of their manufactured community!

Oh, the humanity!

Well lots of folks "like us" are opting for Amazon instant video and you can buy an entire season of a show and get each EP just a few hours after it airs.

That is a pretty good deal and gets you real close to what everyone wants from Cable. Paying for only the shows you want to watch.

I signed up for cable 3 1/2 years ago. I had to pay extra since I am so far off the main road. I got the bill for the installation, but didn’t get my first month’s bill. I called the cable company because I didn’t want a double bill the next month. “Bill is on the way” they said. Called again after no second month’s bill and again after none for three months. I call every year on the anniversary date of paying for the installation and tell them I didn’t get my current bill. It’s still on the way apparently. I think cable is great, and it’s sure cheap!

I got rid of Time Warner and we get it for free!

Worst customer service EVER! TW makes the USPS look like the local friendly cupcake shop.

Interesting.

I can't understand why Cable does this. Anyone can get satellite, but you can only get cable if there is a cable somewhere near you, so the potential audience is smaller for Cable (we can't get cable out here in the sticks - too few people for them to break even, I guess). You'd think they would bend over backwards to get and keep whoever they can.

I have Direct TVHD and my bill runs 91 dollars a month but that is with getting both east coast and west coast. I refused local which is detroit and I live about 70 miles N. of detroit and don’t care what goes on in that city. When I changed to HD they charged me 10 dollars but I still get east and west coast...like you, if you miss a program at 7 you can get it at 10on the other channel....love it...but it cost 3.50 for the 4 networks...still worth it...

Paying for cable or satellite is mark of the addle-minded. It’s all “reality” tv (pssst...hate to break it to some of you, but that is more staged and fake than ‘real’), all-singing, all-dancing celebrity contests and entire channels devoted to golf. Do they still have the sci-fi channel...the one with the professional wrestling all Friday night?
And don’t get me started on cable “news”. Cable news is to news as Cheez Wiz is to cheese. It’s not news. It’s processed news product. Yes, that means fox news, too.

Seriously, if you have cable or satellite that you pay for, please, stop voting. You’re too stupid to handle the franchise responsibly.
