For some reason it doesn’t seem to have any effect on my ability to taste sugar — at least not the first two. It does work for some other people according to reviews. The manufacturer tells you to keep the caplet on your tongue for a while — 10 to 15 seconds — before swallowing - the second one I kept for a long time. Can still taste sugar just as well as ever. The other effects are separate from that, though, and I hope it does reduce the BG. To tell you the truth I didn’t want to lose the ability to taste sugar (would ruin diet drinks also, since the artificial sweeteners go to the same taste buds.)
