If as has been widely suggested, CPAC 2013 marked a paradigm change, a generational change, a new direction of conservatism, it is possible to speculate that someone who fits the new paradigm could be president in 2016. Among them: Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Sarah Palin, all of whom starred at the Conservative Political Action Conference. For any one of these, the perfect choice for vice president should be David Petraeus.
Patraeus always wanted to be president. He still does. His admission to an extramarital affair was timed to the wire to get it out of the way to publicly atone and honor his wife and to enter again the path.
There is no more common foible for a man his age. It happens. But Petraeus is a man of dignity and honor. And Petraeus, along with former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, were the significant leaders who intervened and retrieved the countrys karma when we had skidded entirely into the rocks.
It had been a long time coming. The Army under Tommy Franks was a mess for a long time. There hadnt been a real fight in a long time. When the snob colleges in the Northeast dropped ROTC, it made for a largely Southern Baptist officer corps a regional army and as others have suggested, most soldiers today are largely from the red, heartland states....

I’m not aware of David Petraeus having any place in conservative politics.
Is this The Onion?
This is a joke, right? April Fools?

If you are going for a military type I would want Peter Pace.
Actually, I like Patretrus. But he would be creamed for his stupid affair.
Acutually, I like Perry..but he blew it the last time.
We need to go to another fresh face.
And that is the truth.
He came off like a doofus.
But he really isn’t. I’ve heard him speak..he isn’t ignorant.
Sorry Rick..just move on down the road.
Wow... Captain Gardasil & General Stupidity.
I like Paul but he’s a bit too squishy on amnesty. An anti-amnesty commitment would be nice...not likely...but nice.
lol!
no and no and just hell no
worse yet it is the hill and quiqley is so far left I can’t read any of his work without feeling like I need a shower
By the time Paul would run...amnesty would be a done deal. With or without him.
