Ft. Hood Sergeant Illegally Arrested and Guns Confiscated while Hunting

The conflict between law enforcement and armed military personnel in the community around Fort Hood, one of America’s largest military bases, has recently and repeatedly involved the issue of gun control — and the tension has been exacerbated in part by an Obama-supporting prosecutor described as a “bandleader” of anti-gun efforts in the heavily conservative community.

The conflict reached a fever pitch last month, when Texas police arrested an active-duty Army sergeant for “rudely displaying” a hunting rifle. The sergeant, C.J. Grisham, established an online legal defense fund after he was, in his words, “illegally arrested and disarmed” for carrying the firearm.

“While out hiking with my son through backcountry roads to help him earn his Eagle Scout rank, I was illegally arrested and disarmed without cause. I was thrown in jail and my lawfully owned weapons were confiscated without receipt or notice,” Grisham wrote on the website for the defense fund.

It is dangerous to criticize the "thin skinned" Won.

There is an issue of disrespect by a active military person toward the Commie in Chief.

The question will be if this is a civil case or a military case. The part that troubles me is his guns were confiscated.

There is a related article on Wired about this. It was written before his arrest. (Wired is not allowed to be posted here due to copyright complaints)

Do I see Lexington and Concord redux on the horizon?

Sheesh. Texas of all places. I thought Texas was the most “free” state. I guess not.

I don’t know. But I do know the people of Texas and the citizens of the area around Ft. Hood. The locals will not support this. If the local prosecutor is off the reservation on this, he will be punished. Gun Grabs here are a serious issue and are generally illegal.

That is a shame. I seriously thought Texas was a great state but you are saying it is not. That is REALLY depressing.

I saw of all things a smartphone app that literally was able to gather voting information coupled with your position and it would warn you if you were in a high threat liberal area, I am not kidding!

Unfortunately Texas is appealing to many a refugee, but these refugees are just like weeds and are re-sprouting back up.

We have our pockets of Lefties, but by and large TX is free of the disease.

This incident is in the early stages. I suspect the Prosecutor will get his thingie whacked over it.

FT. Hood is not pro Obozo. Trust me.

From the Temple Newspaper:

Weapons confiscated: Man, charged with resisting arrest, wants his guns back

http://www.tdtnews.com/index/news/show/98500?title=Weapons+confiscated:+Man,+charged+with+resisting+arrest,+wants+his+guns+back

Christopher J. Grisham, 39, has an issue with Temple Police after they stopped him and his son on a Boy Scout hike, disarmed and arrested him, his attorney says. Officers say he resisted arrest.

Now the U.S. Army counterintelligence agent wants Temple Police to return the rifle and handgun they confiscated from him.

Grisham was arrested March 16, five days after he urged the Temple City Council to declare that citizen rights to keep and bear arms will not be infringed upon.

Now, the question, what was he arrested for? I suspect for speaking out. He also does the same on a blog.

How come the prosecutor isn’t named? The prosecutors and police who do this stuff need to be named and shamed.

Here are the facts. The man was arrested, He had a gun.He knew how to use it.

If he had resisted arrest we would be burying the a-holes that arrested him.

Is this the same C. J. Grisham that Michael Yon has been having an ongoing feud with?

There are a lot of out of control police all over this country. Give a goober a stick and a gun and watch out. Authority going to the head seems to be an occupational hazard with many.

Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard round the world.”
