I agree, but lets assume America goes where those pictures indicate. If the US turns into a police state what country wouldn’t follow especially when people like BO start putting pressure on them.

I'm thinking about No. 1 - Confiscation of guns.

In all happenings, it matters who you know. In the Boston manhunt, one man was hunted and thousands (somewhere I read it was thousands) of battle dressed men converged to find that one.

To confiscate guns all over the country, there won't be thousands for one smallish area (smallish compared to the whole country). It would be up to the local cops first to disarm their city. I would expect cops familiar to a certain area would head up the confiscation of guns in that area. That makes sense.

Do you have a connection with certain cops? Do they already know you and you're a good guy to them? Maybe you visit back and forth. It is possible then, in a gun confiscation scenario, you give them something and they take that with a wink and that's it.

In Johnny's case, I think they would skip his house, say they had already been there and that he's just a good guy who lives by himself and watches out for others, and feeds the neighbors sometime. They already know he is a calming influence in that neighborhood. They also know him well enough that they don't want to rile him and have a problem. It's best to pass by a hornet's nest and they know it right now. He is an asset to them.

What I'm saying is, every individual situation is different. I have a lady who lives across from me and she liked my husband very much and it distressed her when he died. We have a sort of pact - we leave each other alone but if a problem comes up, we both know one would help the other which we both have three times.

If we have a hurricane this year, I'll make sure she has some hot food and hot coffee as she is terrible when it comes to even prepping for a hurricane. She doesn't know what I have and still won't even though I feed her and the son.

I don't know a cop but she was married to one who is still on the force and their son lives with her. If there was a problem here, the force would make sure she and the son was okay and she would make sure they included me. I have police insurance by proxy. If they had to remove guns in here, they would apologize they had to knock on my door and bother me with a silly question about guns. It's obvious I am so old, I'm afraid of guns. I would ask them if they wanted my little pink pepper spray in my purse, then I would ask if they wanted a bottle of water to take with them. MAKE A PLAN.

Although the lady across the street and I are friends, she knows absolutely nothing about anything I have and it will stay that way.

I think you can help yourself by becoming “friends” with a cop or someone connected to cops. My situation happened by accident of her living across from me and having interaction with my husband and me. She is a smart woman and we mentally connected.

Look around you and see if there is something you can do to ingratiate yourself with the law community but keep what you have to yourself. It's sort of a “know your enemy” approach, make friends with those you want to feel good about you. For goodness sake, don't tick them off. You need them to like you.

I think technically horse and cow-rustling are hangable offenses. Don’t think they ever changed it nominally.

And I think ‘he just needed killing’ still works on the right
juries.

I have a question for y’all Texans: you know the right we have
to split into 5 different states if necessary giving us 10 senators instead of two? I’m guessing we could switch right back to one state after we employed that dire measure?

I've seen it. I think you did a thread on it a while back.

However, what remains is: Они могут принять мой анус..

I got marked down for not playing nice with others back in kindergarden. Not much has changed. I still take naps.

During the last kerfluffle, they did say they appreciated me calling them instead of handling the pinhead myself. And they did manage to resolve the problem.

If the local constabulary wants to search my house, they can break their hearts and minds with the mind-numbing boringness of it. IF they have a warrant. No muss, no fuss. That's what lawyers and courts are for.

No warrant? No search.

I'm not sure that's still valid, and even if it is, I'm agin it.

Sure, NK could nuke Austin, and I'd write a stern letter, but too many men shed blood in too many places to make Texas what it is to break it up.

That’s why I ask, could we un-breakup real quick after we helped ratify or de-ratify an amendment or two.

And hitting Austin in pointless. The winds run fast here, and LA would be the ones in the fallout.

Cheery thoughts this evening...

Besides, the politics of breaking Texas up would run to decades. It's worse than herding catz.

Re-uniting would be as bad. I was once in a water co-op that had 12 members. Everyone carried at monthly meetings. Half of the minutes got stricken because of harsh language.

Politics in Texas is not for sissies. Some folks will disagree just to be contrary.

My defining moment was in August of 1985.

A cop stoned out of his gourd decided he was going to kill me and I decided he wasn’t going to.

Took me less than a second to make the decision.

Little bastard was lucky to be alive.

Make several different states. Let Austin and El Paso, those liberal bastions, be their own states, with three conservative ones to offset it.

Yep. An eye opener for sure. Obama has his “civilian defense force” just as well armed as the military.

To me they just looked like a modern day Gustapo. What I saw in the videoes and pictures did not look like any house to house search I ever heard about - not even in the turbulent 60’s and 70’s.

It looked more like the American Gustapo in training than homeland security, but then that’s the way of Washington DC. They always name their projects the opposite of what they are.

Affordable Care Act? Heck no; it’s anything but affordable, and has nothing to do with access to care - it does give the Insurance Company new customers that they have been wanting forever, but the old adage - be careful what you wish for comes to mind.

We are sliding into bondage. There will be great trials and tribulations to come more than likely. Time will tell whether we will continue the march toward serfdom, or reverse course, stand up, and push back the tyranny.

Maybe we should get some links up that tell how to hide stuff so that it’s not detectable. Lots of posts about the government coming to get your emergency supplies for distribution to the grasshoppers of the USA, also any spare ammo or guns you might have.

(If you have only 1 gun and 1 bullet - that meets the criteria of spare - you don’t have any need for it after all. Your betters need to rescue you so you don’t shoot your toe off or worse). /Sarc

I just found out that we have opened a new gun range in town. It’s for the cops to practice. However, if you belong to the NRA, they will let you pay annual dues and use the range any time it’s available, which is a lot.

One part of me thinks ok that would be a good thing to do. Get to know some cops like you said.

The skeptic in me says on the other hand, they’ll know you have a gun, and when the disarmament orders go out, the NRA members will be first to get the visit, and made an example of.

When the great confiscation happens, I am sure that there will be martyrs - they will want to make some examples of resisting citizens to scare the others into compliance.

I don’t own a gun, and have never fired a gun, but I have kicked a peeper in the face, and scared off a burglar with my banshee screech at him to get out.

As it turns out the police chief of my town-of-7000 lives right across the street from me.

“Storm troopers were out in force in Watertown pulling people out of their homes at gun point.”

I saw some stories on that, however I haven’t been able to do a deep dive. How did the police even know who was or wasn’t home? If the same happened in my neighborhood, I’d just be hunkered down in my bunker (basement) and I don’t know how they would even know if I were home.

Did they do home inspections or just knock and then react to the residents that answered the door? If the latter, why would anyone answer their door while knowing that these bombers were running around the town?
