It took them the better part of 4 years, butt I guess the Congress that passed the bill finally got around to reading it. When they did, they didn’t like what they passed. At least not for themselves. So, instead of repealing it for everyone, they are quietly looking into excepting themselves and their staffers from some of the onerous aspects of the “train wreck” they caused.
Good luck with that - now that the cat’s out of the bag. It’s like I always say, “Buyer’s Remorse” is the most embarrassing, uh, embarrassment.
I don’t know why, butt that reminded me of this little “insider” story:
Shortly after Barack Obama was elected in 2008, a fellow reporter who’d covered President George W. Bush all eight years told me she’d had enough of the travel and stress and strain of the White House beat, that she was moving on.

“Not at all. He’s an inch deep. Bush is a bottomless chasm, a deep, mysterious, emotional, profound man. Obama is all surface — shallow, obvious, robotic, and, frankly, not nearly as smart as he thinks. Bush was the one.”
Her words, so succinct, have stuck with me ever since. By the way, she’s a hardcore Democrat.
Where were all these people before the 2008 election? Hint: They were buying!
And speaking of buyer’s remorse, last night the Senate passed a bill intended to eliminate the air traffic furloughs and resultant flight delays. HuffPo “reports”:
In a quick and unanticipated session on Thursday night, the U.S. Senate approved a resolution that would allow the Federal Aviation Administration budget flexibility to stop furloughing air traffic controllers.

Don’t get too excited though - Big Guy is expected to veto the bill. First, he doesn’t want to be given any “finger print flexibility” on cuts he makes to punish you. And second, Big Guy and Lady M don’t fly commercial since they WON. Come to think of it, that’s probably “First.”

Gotta’ run again. Lady M just heard that they are going to bring Twinkies back to market. I’ve got to cancel all her ebay “Collector Twinkie” bids, and order 2 new snack lockers.
Oh, sure... for THEM! But screw the peasantry.
Dems and staffers finally got a chance to read the bill ... and they didn’t like it.
Too bad the rest of Amercan, except those already exempted by political preferences, don’t get a chance to be exempted.
Until Congressional members go to jail for insider trading everything else remains a sideshow to me. Any member who voted to allow it to continue should go to jail.
They got what they voted for time to suck it up.
