See link below.
A couple of years ago a woman who had been a Finnish exchange student with my family back in the 70s brought her son and daughter back to see my parents.
While they were here, she said they wanted to do something really “American”.
I immediately suggested going to the drive-in theater! What could be more American than going to the drive-in?
They got to see the little film at the front with all the food marching around in a circle, and the hot dog jumping into the bun :-)
For them, it was a bonus that the movie was “The Simpsons Movie”.
So....you and your wife went to a drive in with the Swedish Au Pair from down the street....I wanna be you!
“Sweden is actually quite a nice country”
- Don’t forget, our nightclubs are nearly as good as those you find in Britain:

But they should have brought over the original, available with 50 more horsepower than you can get on the Dodge.
I dont know if any of you watch Fast n Loud on the Discovery Channel,...Fast 'n Loud is one of the best shows on TV and it's about the only one my grand kids can watch with out their mom and dad worrying about the content.
It's one of my favorites by far.
Boy, I had a moment of panic there when I couldn't remember "Renon". I remembered it started at Bolzano, and finally got myself oriented with Google Maps. Whew.
I hope everybody cheered!
On Velocity Channel they are now airing Car Crazy.
Last night they had an rerun episode from last year showing the biggest Classic Car Show in Sweden. Low Riders, Hot Rods, Classics and Customs. Chip Foose was even there.
I saw one taking laps at Laguna Seca a few years ago during the Monterey Historics. Yes, it’s fast, but it’s hideous (and hideously expensive) and it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.
You want to see something wild, go to youtube and search for "formula 4x4 hillclimb"
You'll find men driving killer "Jeeps" that go straight up a cliff and often tumble end over end back down the hill for a couple of blocks. I think it's a "run what you brung" venue and they are often big-blocks on nitrous, with lockers and paddle tires all around...it's usually held in some kind of strip mining pit. Big REVs!
It makes the US rock crawlers (and hydrophobic NASCAR)look like a bunch of whimpering tricycle tykes.
Almost didn’t click the link...What a treat...Awesome...
Must be everyone in Sweden owns an old American car...Even saw an Edsel in the bunch...
There’s a 4 screen drive in here in Reno still in operation. Used for swap meets on weekends. Also, it looks like some of the American Iron “needs” to be re-patriated to the states. Swedes should be banned from taking these cars out of this country. I saw several that I would be willing to give a good home to. Hot August Nights isn’t that far off so there is a little time left for them to ship them to me.
I agree. I don;t know how it sounds but I will take your word for it. This one I saw was on top of everything a solid hideous orange in colour. Still you don’t see a car priced well over a million everyday. I only saw it in passing and wouldn’t know if it was the original model or the newer faster super sport version.
They loved it...I made sure we got all the greasy, unhealthy American drive-in food.
They also loved the movie. I didn’t know it, but Europeans apparently are fascinated by the Simpsons.
