I remember a world without gun control, or nearly so. Crime rates were low. We did not lock our doors. Anti-Aircraft guns and Anti-tank guns and ammo could be ordered through the mail without a license. It was only 45 years ago.

“Gun control” is only needed if you live in a world without God.

HS students could leave handguns and rifles in their vehicles, kids could visit each other's homes and shoot guns in the nearby woods and nobody was assaulted.

(Of course nobody lived in a broken home or was on welfare.)

That reminds me of the great quote: “An Armed Society is a Polite Society”. Gun control reverses that.

There is no “reasonable” way to violate people’s rights.

Liberal Vermont has constitutional carry, is it the murder capital of the world? No.

I would prefer to live in a world with no gun controls because I never carried a key to our house until I was 15 or 16. The vehicle keys were always left in the cars and trucks. Car trunks had a button to push to open them and they were always unlocked.

My Grandpa’s house on the edge of town didn’t even have a lock on any of the doors. He was a cop for quite a few years and never drew his revolver from the holster when he was in uniform.

Until drugs came on the scene we never had a use for locks. Let’s start shooting drug dealers.

My choice is none. Who makes the determination of “reasonable”?

I have mine, you have yours. Someone gets out of hand, we take care of them.

i always held a reasonable gun is what the cops or feds carried.

for reliability reasons, and so that if i ever had to use such a gun, if i owned any, i was using what the cops used, and wasn’t trying to appear to use ‘more gun’ than what the cops believed they needed - freaking trial lawyers mentality.

Reasonable gun control? I take this to mean Posse Comitatus limits on the federal government, 5th Amendment prohibitions on the taking of life without due process, 4th Amendment prohibitions on search and seizure without a warrant, and other reasonable restrictions on the government turning this country into a police state.

Let’s be blunt about this:

The Ultimate goal of the gun grabbers would be to have only the government and the criminals with a monopoly on the use of force.

The gun grabbers have admitted that their halfway measures would not solve the problems the claim to care about. And when they are honest about their intentions ( a rare event indeed) they will tell you that their current set of people controls are ‘Just the beginning’.

The question should be poised this way:

Given A Choice, Would I Choose To Live In A World With No Gun Control, Or NO Guns?

An armed society is a polite society.
