We told you religious (as well as other types of freedom) would bite the bullet in the military once our Leftist congress and president forced open homosexuality on our armed forces.
It seems a recently promoted master sergeant has been reprimanded and punished for recognizing the law and serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at his promotion party.
From the Washington Times:
The unnamed soldier was promoted to master sergeant about that time and decided to hold a double-themed party, Fox News reported.
His invitation stated: “In honor of my promotion and in honor of the Defense of Marriage Act, I’m serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at my promotion party.”
Backlash from military officials was swift. He received a letter of reprimand for combining his promotion with the pro-DOMA theme, was threatened with legal action, and was rated poorly on his latest efficiency report, according to Fox News.
He has turned to Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty for assistance.
“They say he is no longer a team player and was not performing up to standards,” Chaplain Alliance executive director Ron Crews said. “This is just one little example of a case of a soldier just wanting to express his views and now he’s been jumped on by the military.”
Though the Democrat congress and president rewrote the law to force the military to submit to allowing this behavior in the ranks, the law of the land with regard to marriage still recognizes that marriage can only be created between a man and a woman. So these fascists are punishing this master sergeant for acknowledging the law. Not surprising, unfortunately, since these activists within our Defense Department have already been busy giving the middle finger to the law.

After the party, the solider received a letter of reprimand. Crews said at issue was the combination of the sandwiches and the soldier’s support of DOMA (which happens to be the law of the land).
“There was initially some talk of bringing judicial punishment against him,” Crews said. “He had a letter put in his file and an investigation was initiated to see if he had violated any policy.”
The solider reached out to the Chaplain Alliance for help and they put him in touch with an attorney. Crews said nearly one year later – the soldier is still embroiled in a legal battle.
“He was at the pinnacle of his career,” Crews said. “To make that rank means you’ve done very well throughout your career. He wants to finish serving his time honorably.”
Crews said stories like this are becoming commonplace in the military post-repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
“These stories are the ones that have not been told – about some of the more subtle ramifications of the repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy,” he said. One service member received a severe reprimand for expressing his faith’s religious position about homosexuality in a personal religious blog.
A chaplain was relieved of his command over a military chapel because he could not allow same-sex weddings to take place in the chapel.
And a chaplain who asked senior military officers whether religious liberty would be protected in the wake of the repeal of the law against open homosexual behavior in the military was told to “get in line” or resign.
“I told you so” just doesn’t seem to do justice to the travesty we are now seeing.
The “tolerant” Left will not tolerate the slightest personal deviation from their Orwellian campaign to redefine morality, normality, sexuality, marriage, and anything that differs from their self-centered view.
Anyone who has ever served in the military knew this would be the outcome. Even many who have never served could have figured that out. Mission effectiveness be damned. The welfare of the troops be damned. Religious (and speech) freedom be damned.
And now those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and freedom around the world are being forced to suffer even more…on the altar of an immoral, unnatural and dangerous political agenda.
And the cost of putting political correctness ahead of military effectiveness and what is right is likely to continue to rise…
A Master Sgt should know better than to wade into that territory; in this climate and with this “Commander in Chief” he should have known to be much more subtle.
Just announce the promo party and that the food will be chick filet - that is all he should have said. Most would have gotten the message (the queers certainly would have but would not have had anything to hang him with).
In the military you don’t have full free speech rights, and a new MSGT should know this....
Yeah, that’s it. This poor schmuck should know that under a communist regime (that is antithetical to America’s entire existence), the previous 230 years of our understood moral history is in the can. He should have simply bowed down to the gods of hell of political correctness to save his ass. He should have understood that even though military members do not have the exact same freedoms that other Americans who he fights for have—well, heck, he should have just bent over and taken the communist takeover of our nation like a good, damned sheep would. He should have known better than to resist, even in a small, humble, token way. Yeah, that’s it.
I guess he didn’t get the memo, that all good liberals are to avoid Chick Fill A, and that liberal local officials are using planning and zoning laws to keep Chick Fill A out of their cities and towns.
And the Defense of Marriage Act? Even though it’s the law of the land, as of today, the liberals have decided that law is unconstitutional. So, we’re not supposed to support that law. Obama said so.
I’m always puzzled about the Defense of Marriage Act. It passed Congress by an overwhelming margin. Many liberals, such as Chuck Schumer, Joe Lieberman, Tom Harkin, and others, voted for it. Bill Clinton signed it. Clearly, at that time, liberals supported traditional marriage. Now liberals have decided that this law is unconstitutional and bigoted and all that. Were liberals wrong then or are they wrong now? The law would not have ever passed in the first place if not for the strong liberal support it had.
