Are politicians so out of touch, so insulated, so tunnel visioned that we REALLY have to send them a note reminding them to be good little boys and girls and be American?

Does a politician think, "Well ... nobody called, so I guess I'll be a Socialist" ???

A good way to help Cruz (and America) is to flood Rubio's office with calls and faxes. He's beginning to go wobbly.

Wish there was a running tally on the site to see how many signatures he was collecting on the petition

Last evening as Rubio delivered his talking points, he managed to speak a tad slower than he has in the past. Perhaps he has come to his senses that his splash onto center stage was a tad premature. American citizens are fair minded, but we are not necessarily stupid

There isn't, because it is NOT a petition. It is a fundraising exercise. Bizarre that the entire conservative blogosphere is promoting it. I don't mind Cruz fundraising - I sent him $500 myself last year. But he isn't up for re-election for 6 years, and raising money does NOTHING to stop this bill.

Rubio is starring in talking points radio ads that are flooding our local AM stations to promote amnesty. They are produced by Obama’s pal Mark Zuckerberg, billionaire/liberal CEO of Facebook.

There's also going to be a Defeat with a Tweet tweet-up, TODAY!!

Here are the details, for those who tweet....

At 2 p.m. eastern time, NumbersUSA will join other organizations in a Stop Amnesty "Tweet Up." The goal of the Tweet Up is to get the hashtag #StopAmnesty trending and to overwhelm Senators' twitter accounts with tweets detailing the flaws of the amnesty bill.

We ask that at 2 p.m. Eastern time/ 1 p.m. Central time/ noon Mountain time/ 11 a.m. Pacific time, you use the hashtag #StopAmnesty and tweet messages to your Senator. We also ask that you stay engaged on Twitter and promote the message as much as you can.

Tweet yourself, retweet others, reply to naysayers, etc. - just make sure you are using #StopAmnesty

Please keep an eye on these twitter pages belonging to other groups who will be participating. Experts from Center for Immigration Studies, Eagle Forum, Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), Heritage Action, Heritage Foundation, ProEnglish, and Americans4Work will be tweeting about the bill.

@wwwCISorg

@EagleForumDC

@FAIRImmigration

@Heritage_Action

@Heritage

@proenglishUSA

@Americans4Work

The main points we hope you push in your tweets are these:

The CBO report finds that S 744 will decline wages of legal workers for 12 years and will increase unemployment for 6 years while only stopping 25% of illegal immigration.

The bill will bring millions of new workers, with every skill level, at a time when 20 million Americans cannot find a full time job. There is no labor shortage.

This bill was written by special interests who want cheap labor and do not care about the welfare of immigrants.

The bill will weaken current law. It fails to build a border fence and implement an entry/exit system - both of which have already been mandated by Congress.

Law enforcement is overwhelmingly against the bill including the President of the ICE workers union.

No matter what amendments may be agreed to today, the bill is still amnesty first and enforcement later, maybe. Members of the Gang of 8 have admitted this and refuse to tie border security to amnesty.

The American people disagree with that sequence. They want enforcement FIRST.

No. They are not out of touch. That statement implies that their current actions have good intentions guided by ignorance. Absolutely untrue.

Like ObamaCare, they know exactly what they are doing, they know exactly what we think. They do not believe they are there to do what is in our interests, nor do they believe that what we want matters. The notion that they would do what we want (i.e. the Constitution and the rule of law) if they just understood how strongly we feel and how many of us there are is total bunk.

The members of congress consider us to be nothing more than annoyances on the implementation of their agenda.

We can submit all the petitions we want. We can also pee into the wind.

The Republican Party is populated by traitors that have been backdoor collaborators with the fascist Democrats for a *long* time. Reagan slowed it down for a while. When he left office it was full steam sell out again.

Who have we had in the WH since Reagan? Hmm? Two Bushs. Think about that. Since 1988 (25 years) the best we have done is two Bushs! A serious study study of each's time in the WH reveals collaboration, and lots of it. And the 20 years preceding Reagan's entry into the WH? Nixon & Ford. What do we have to show for supporting the Republican Party? I submit that we are exactly where we would have been had we all voted Democrat all along. Maybe 10 or 15 years longer to get there.

Why the rush on passing amnesty???

Must See & Hear: Immigration Bill Waives Felony Document
Fraud & Social Security Number Fraud For Illegal Aliens

Just a few felony crimes that will be waived for ILLEGAL aliens under Immigration Bill S.744:

‘Falsely representing or knowingly using a Social Security Number obtained with false information’

‘Falsely claiming citizenship on Form I-9’

‘Knowingly altering a Social Security Card’

‘Document fraud to prove eligibility for employment’

a comment at site:
“Isn’t Barack Obama subject to charges for all of these offenses? Maybe that’s why the immigration bill is getting the ultra-fast track treatment; maybe evidence of his ineligibility is mounting toward levels which can no longer be ignored. “

Well put.

That is exactly what I sarcastically meant when I posted.

What good are petitions?

Yes, we believe you. Yes, there can be no doubt that you donated $500 to him last year yet now, after he has proven to be a conservative Lion in the Senate, do your little bit to hobble his efforts.

What good are petitions?

Here is a little rewording of Jim Morrison:

When I was a young and naive Republican,
There was a person there who put forth the proposition
That you can petition our Republican Overlords with prayer
....Petition our Republican Overlords with prayer
....Petition our Republican Overlords with prayer
You cannot petition our Republican Overlords with prayer

montag, you’re awfully touchy—I’m not going to shut up. If I have to choose between hurting your feelings and standing with Ted Cruz against those who begin to take shots (however minor) I’ll stand with Cruz. He’s putting his ass on the line—you’re posting some comments.
