Obstetrician/gynecologist with more than 5,000 patients shuts down his practice because he doesn’t want it controlled by Obamacare bureaucrats
The Houston affilifate of ABC News reported that some doctors were shutting down their practices in response to Obamacare.
Dr. Robert WcWilliams, an obstetrician/gynecologist with more than 5,000 patients, said:
“It’s going to be run by bureaucrats – and it’s going to be run by politicians – who have no idea what is in your best interests, then I’m getting out.”
This is great. I’m glad he’s doing this. There’s no better way to protest against Obamacare than for doctors to shut down their practices.

All he really has to do is stop taking medicare. Perhaps change to a concierge model.

An OB/GYN doc doing this will really make it hit home with all those liberal females who support Obama.

Medicaid is the supposedly “free” one that is being merged/gobbled up. I love the concierge idea-prices will go down, except for those with Obamascare...

You know — I saw a plan for one of these, and it was NOT bad at all — a $4K deposit or so and then under $300 per month thereafter for total access to that particular doc. Considering some premiums nowadays, this is a bargain.

I just watched a doctor’s office with 6,000 patients close. He went “concierge” with only 600 private pay patients. Thousands are doing this. National managed care practices are springing up all over the place.

Yep. they are going Galt, staying out of the mainstream insurance crap for as long as they can. ObamaDeath will see to it that their practices are outlawed.

So, does that mean that we may end up with "back alley" clinics that have to hide the fact that they are unwilling to preform abortions according to federal demands?
Just thinkin'.

This message needs to be sent to doctors across the US.
When the Republicans are again in charge, concierge medicine will be the way to go. Forget Medicare, Medicaid and routine care insurance. They have failed, are unsupportable, and are drawing to a close. Insurance in the future will be exclusively for catastrophic illness, non-elective surgery, and long term care.
So plan ahead. With government no longer calling the shots, you are your patients will have to figure out what is best for your and their interests.
Look for a “Medical Freedom Act”, that if you don’t want government involvement, you don’t get it. This includes HIPPA. Medical records again becoming private between a doctor and his patients.

“Medical records again becoming private between a doctor and his patients.”
Most doctors don’t keep them all that secure. Hospitals are far worse in most cases.

Docs should quit. Make people suffer. Maybe...maybe some people will see the light. If docs go to concierge practices, eventually state medical boards will yank their licenses.
