In my 20 years in the military I learned that from brown bar to bird colonel, officers are promoted based on competence. From 1-star to four-star, officers are promoted on their political contacts and their ability to bring money into their branch of service. This last capability is highly desirable in industry since the Government has a lot of money to spend. They hire Generals for their contacts and not as a reward. They also fire them when they don’t win contracts.

I wonder if that is why we don’t have decisive victories when we go to war.

Remember when Monica Lewinski got that cushy job at Revlon, thanks to Andrew Young’s maneuvering on Billy Jeff’s behalf? That’s the way the Arkansas Democrat crooks greased the skids for those who had the goods on them.

David Petraeus will never have to worry about missing a meal. So why does he need to be paid off?

I would not want to go through what he went through just for a cushy job. It is not worth it. Every time someone sees him they will think about to the scandal. He had enough money from his retirement to easily live a somewhat comfortable life without the hell he went through. He was not paid off because it would not have been worth the drama he had to live through.

CUNY is a rinky dink college and if you graduate from there, you have a hard time finding a job because no one takes you seriously. Had it been UCLA or BYU, you’d have a point but not CUNY

4-star Petreus going to CIA with the sex scandal, must reflect his involvement with Benghazi-Gate he most likely would have been swept deeply under the rug, hmmm!!!

You signed up last week and post one and a half sentences of your opinion from your blog? Freepers don’t appreciate this site used for blog advertising. I would suggest, if you honestly want your opinion read, to completely post your article. No way will I go to your blog based on what you posted.

Has anyone else noticed that just about EVERY high level general officer has been relieved of duty, many due to one sort of scandal or another?

Is Barky stacking the upper level of the military with his cronys? To destroy the American military for generations to come?
