I always thought that “IRGC” meant Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from Iran.

They’ve been active in our hemisphere for s onetime now. In 1988, at the airport in Iguaza, Argentina, out in the jungle near Iguazu Falls, there was a group of Iranians gathered around an ayatollah, dressed in the black turban and tan robes, giving some kind of speech before heading back to Persia. I worked in Teheran in the 70s, and the population was pretty much under the thumb of SAVAK, the Shah’s secret police which was replaced by SAVAMA, the ayatollahs’ secret police. The IRGC was a new twist as they operated outside Iran.
