Unlike the statists who defy, ignore and rewrite the Constitution for purpose of evasion -- as they push their big government rules and regulations -- I propose that we, the people, take a closer look at the Constitution itself for our preservation. The Constitution provides the means for restoring self-government and averting societal catastrophe. Or, in the case of societal collapse, resurrecting the civil society in Article V.
Article V sets forth the two processes for amending the Constitution, the second of which we're going to focus on. Article V says, in part:
Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress
Importantly, and I want to emphasize this, in neither case of amending the Constiiution does Article V provide for a Constitutional Convention. This is important, because you'll hear critics say, "We don't need a Constitutional Convention! We'll never get anyone better than the Framers!"
And they're right! This isn't a Constitutional Convention. This is a convention for proposing amendments to the Constitution...continued

LOL. The Philadelphia Convention wasn’t supposed to be a constitutional convention either. Congress will never call a convention because it means delegating the power to write amendments to another body. Politicians don’t seek office in order to give power away.
Yes they will. The constitution mandates it. "Shall call a convention". That's why this works to restore libety, it cuts Washington out of the process.

When the 14th Amendment was being proposed it failed to get the required two thirds majority in the Senate. The Republicans, who had a simple majority, then voted to expel a Senator from New Jersey who had voted against it. The Constitution requires a two thirds majority to expel a member of the house or Senate, but the Republicans said they weren't expelling him, they were just retroactively unseating him and he was kicked out. The 14th Amendment then passed the Senate by a single vote and was submitted to the states - even though the constitution requires a two thirds vote.
The point is the Congress can simply redefine the language any way they choose in order to get out of having to call a convention. They can, for example, define the Congress itself as the convention and then do as they please. And if push comes to shove they'll just ignore the constitution - they do that every day don't they? Congress will never call a real constitutional convention.
It's probably a good thing that there cannot be a real constitutional convention. It would undoubtedly be packed with the kinds of people who spend their entire lives hovering around government anyway. We'd end up with a new bill of rights giving everyone a right to a house, a free doctor, a college degree, and anything else you can think of. But any measure of freedom to resist the government would be gone.
I agree - To take “education out of the hands of the State”, parents must take their precious children away from the State-run schools, and most aren’t willing or financially able to do that. All but a handful of teachers were trained in the State indoctrination camps, which subjects children to the same brainwashed mindset regardless of setting (exceptions are too few to make any decent difference).
Thanks, Bill Gates (perv NWO creep that you are) for Core Curriculum, which was railroaded through without public awareness by the NEA minions in the state education bureaucracies — our elected representatives haven’t done their job in stopping this, which tells me the Fix is in. Next the SAT and ACT will be modelled after the CC, so all you home schoolers and private/religious educators will be left with a decision on the curriculum you teach.
That is, unless our President/King mandates all children will be educated using the Core Curriculum, & parents will be prosecuted for not complying. Why do you think that lovely German homeschooler family wasn’t granted permanent asylum in the US? Our PINO & criminal Holder have no use for such people who reject State indoctrination. You still don’t get it. It matters not one bit what senate or house republicans want. Once the threshold of 2/3s of the state legislatures is met Washington is out of the picture. Read the constitution.

You need to read up on this. The word “shall” means they must, it’s not optional. The states themselves control the convention. The founders added this option in case the congress refused to act. This is the reason Levin is proposing this solution. If the congress could defy the order of the states then it would not be a solution would it? You are attempting to argue with the framers themselves.
And where exactly does it say the states control the convention? It's hard enough to get Congress to abide by the limitations that are explicitly stated. They certainly aren't going to read in any limitations that are not there.
Those that are concerned about restoring liberty and limiting the role of government to the original intent of the founders need to get fully up to speed on this issue and fast.
