President Obama Chooses His Own Facts About Keystone Pipeline
Political Realities ^ | 07/30/13 | LD Jackson

Posted on 07/31/2013 4:35:18 AM PDT by LD Jackson

When it comes to the facts and how they are portrayed in Washington, it is a subjective thing. On any given issue, the facts are manipulated so they will appear to support a particular argument. We may want to deny it, but both sides of the political spectrum do this. So, when President Obama doubled down against the Keystone Pipeline in Chattanooga, TN yesterday, it was no surprise that he chose his own facts to support his argument that the pipeline was not a jobs plan. Hat tip to Texas Fred.

Fox News - President Obama doubled down Tuesday on his claim that the Keystone XL oil pipeline would create just a handful of jobs, despite being hammered by Republicans and fact-checkers alike for the claim.

The president addressed Keystone during a speech in Chattanooga, Tenn., as he challenged Republicans to come up with new jobs proposals.

"They keep on talking about this -- an oil pipeline coming down from Canada that's estimated to create about 50 permanent jobs. That's not a jobs plan," Obama said.

In citing the 50-jobs number, though, the president was using the smallest possible number attached to the pipeline project. The estimate he used likely refers to a State Department finding that -- after the pipeline is built -- it would take roughly 50 people to maintain it.

But the comment ignores the rest of the State Department report that estimates the project would create nearly 4,000 annual construction jobs -- and potentially "support" an annual 42,000 jobs.

Obama similarly ignored those findings during an interview he gave recently to The New York Times. In the interview, Obama said the project would create roughly 2,000 construction jobs and maybe 100 additional jobs after that -- calling it a "blip relative to the need."

Keystone PipelineMy apologies to any liberal supporter of President Obama who happens to read this post, but the man lied, misrepresented, manipulated the facts to support his own side in this argument. I have said, more than once, that President Obama has no intention of allowing the Keystone Pipeline to be built. He is using the excuse that it will not create enough jobs, but when that falls through the floor, you can rest assured, he will make up something else. The first excuses he has used had to do with the environment. He has pivoted away from those, for the moment, but he will likely make his way back to the fold.

Even though his own State Department has said Keystone would create many jobs, he is ignoring that fact. This is, after all, an oil pipeline. We all know how he feels about oil and coal, fossil fuels in general. He thinks they should be regulated out of existence. Those are his words, not mine. If that offends your sensibilities, I will guarantee you one thing. If this project had something to do with solar energy or wind power, it wouldn't matter if it created a single job. President Obama would be all over it, touting its benefits for the environment.

I'm sorry, but the facts are the facts, even if President Obama is making them up as he goes along. I contend that someone needs to stand up and refute the claims he is making. I can’t understand why someone in the Republican Party doesn’t hold their own news conference and call Obama out for the lies he is telling. Are they that afraid of him or the reaction of the media? If so, then they need to grow some backbone and stand their ground. We see them running scared of Obama and his media entourage enough, as it is. There is no need to do that when the facts are on our side.

This should be an easy issue to use against President Obama. Even the liberal fact checkers can't shield him from the lies he is telling. Is there not one conservative who is willing to stand up, either in Congress or in Washington, and tell the truth about the Keystone Pipeline and the facts the President is using to perpetuate a lie.

“No... pResident O-hole chooses to lie about the Keystone pipeline.”

Why not? The media will report his lies as fact, and the stupid public, those that bother to pay some small amount of attention, will believe whatever they are told.

The entire Progressive Agenda is a selective-fact-filled bullshit story.

ONLY the Elites who will be in charge will benefit, while the rest of the populace is dragged down to a level never experienced in a Free Country.

The parasitic non-productives see this as a "fairness" issue, where wealth-redistribuiton fills their pockets (they have nowhere to go but "up"), while the Productive masses have their earnings confiscated and handed out for submissive fools to follow the Movement.

The Progressive movement is the same as a bowel movement, with the same outcome.....

Obama isn't going to offend his Saudi patrons. He needs them to fund his presidential library and to provide him with consulting and speaking fees when he leaves office.

Obama wouldn’t know a real fact if it clobbered him over the head. He lives in a world of delusion and ignorance called leftism.

Since Obama is known to find out things only when he reads them in the paper, I hope he picked up the paper in Chattanooga yesterday

Take your jobs plan and shove it, Mr. President: Your policies have harmed Chattanooga enough

How appropriate and the timing was perfect. The good “Prince of Saudi Oil” crys they have no other source of income other than selling oil. The U.S. oil industry is ready to produce more oil than any other country in the world when up pops odumbo slamming the door shut on the Keystone pipe line. The very same Keystone pipeline that could transport much of that U.S. oil along with its Canadian neighbor’s oil as well. Certainly odumbo wouldn’t want to bite the hand that has been feeding him now would he?

Sure wish someone would/could find out who receives the profit from two wells in Kansas named the Stanley D and the Stanley A. It may explain why 0 doesn’t want the competition of the pipeline. Obama is a very creepy man, if you can call him a man. He makes up childish lies like this all the time.

Remember all the doctors who cut off healthy diabetic patients’ legs, just to get the amputation fee? And that Obamacare had something to do with stopping that imaginary problem?

Don’t forget the Keystone does nothing for Warren Buffett either. He owns the rail lines and wants the domestic oil producers to ship via rail instead of pipeline. Follow the money — it comes from the Saudi’s and Mr. Buffett.
