Thousands of activists for immigration reform have gone missing after only four hundred turned up at Wednesday's rally in Bakersfield, CA outside the office of Republican Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy. Though the SEIU reported that "more than 5,000 people" had boarded buses to the rally, only a few hundred actually emerged in Bakersfield--potentially one of the greatest human tragedies in American history. The Associated Press offered a figure of 1,500 attendees, citing estimates from Bakersfield police. Those estimates are clearly erroneous, based perhaps on expected rather than actual turnout. A local CBS affiliate reported from Los Angeles on the morning of the rally that "3,900 people" were going to the rally.
If so, thousands were lost on the way. Many vehicles are apparently missing, as well--the CBS affiliate reported that "the largest car and bus caravan in California" had left Dodger Stadium, though an organizer filmed by Breitbart News' Lee Stranahan that morning only mentioned one truck and several other vehicles.
Yet journalists have failed to follow up on the missing demonstrators.
Of course, the vast majority of those demonstrators did not actually exist.
Earlier in the month, organizers had promised at least 5,000 activists would turn up to the event, which was billed as the climax of "Action August." Yet Breitbart News' Lee Stranahan counted roughly 400 demonstrators at the start of the rally, a figure that matched my impression of the rather sparse throng.
If the bussed-in crowd, which included many self-declared illegal immigrants, swelled at all after that point, it did not do so by much, despite the free lunches dished out by union organizers.
Perhaps the other thousands of protesters were "in the shadows," so to speak, and therefore "invisible" to the naked eye.

Nice writing by Pollack, mocking the leftists (which drives them insane).
Thanks.
That’s gonna be a lot of milk cartons.
They must have been eaten by bridge trolls?
Two people standing on a streetcorner, yelling at cars = "Dozens"
Ten or a dozen people walking up and down a street = "Hundreds"
Couple of busloads of people, standing on the steps of a gov't building = "Thousands" or "10's of thousands"
30,0000= million man march!!!!
Maybe the same phenomenon happened to the thousands of activists who were no doubt on their way to the OFA Climate Change Event this week.

Meanwhile, 250,000 tea partiers show up in DC = "Crickets Chirping"
Or perhaps a well coordinated group of patriots hijacked the buses and drove them straight back to Mexico.
Maybe the drivers got the wrong itinerary and drove them to Ohio to vote.
Good article ping. Or should I say good article demonstrating leftist fraud ping.......
“...the SEIU reported that “more than 5,000 people” had boarded buses...”
That’s how SEIU helps create vote fraud, same modus operandi.
Well, if you called for a million libtard march on Washington, the downtown Seattle area would be flooded with morons.
As FReeper whatsup insightfully posted: Dems thought they would be WAAAAY ahead in the polls on img/reform by now. They been beating the issue to death...but they can't seem to get traction.
(Cackle) the longer the issue twists in the wind the more America sides with the GOP ... does not bode well for Dems chances in 2014 midterms.
Mmmmmm.....sure would like to see Dem internal polls. As this issue gets closer to the crucial midterms.....and as Obama's approval ratings sink---he's down to 41%....more and more congressmen and senators will be scared to death to get on-board.
BTW..... where's the massive "civil-rights type" marches Schmuckie Schumer threatened Repubs with if they didn't shape up?
And when a Third World mouthpiece like Cong Gutierrez says, "We (meaning the Third World) got the votes," you know img/reform is goin' down in flames.
Isn't it odd that Dems can't seem to grab onto a message that resonates with the public these days....even w/ all that "magic" in the WH?
ROTFLOL
