Egypt, the Young Turks All Over Again [vanity]

Posted on 08/22/2013 8:11:00 AM PDT by Arthur Wildfire! March

For those of you who don't know, "back in 1911 Turkey disarmed its citizens, and between 1915 – 1917 they murdered 1.5 million Armenians." [Snippet-- I forget from where.] To this day, England feels shame for doing next to nothing about it. [Their only 'excuse' was being mired in WWI at the time.] Yes, the British press was on the job back then, just as they reported on India [which led to India's peaceful victory]. But a free press and linked hands are powerless against Islamic thugs.

We have FReepers in our midst whose families had suffered directly from the Young Turks. I wish I could share some 'private message' horror stories. But there's really no need. The same thing is starting to happen in Egypt right now.

Funny how Glenn Beck claims that we must link hands and appeal to the media to get the truth out about Egypt. While Beck cares to the point of a shaky voice, he says we should disarm the Muslim Brotherhood's enemy. Weird, huh?

I realize that it's insane to be allies with any muslim state. But Jimmy Carter wanted his 'Peace in Israel' legacy. And Egypt has been an inconvenient ally ever since.

We train the Egyptian military here in the US and have secularized their officers. [That is why they are different than the Egyptian populace.] The money to train and secularize has already been spent. Now it's a question of timing -- when do we punish the Egyptian military? When they fight the Muslim Brotherhood? Do we want the Muslim Brotherhood to execute these pro-secular soldiers? Because THAT is what would happen if we turn against the Egyptian military. Then EVERY Christian in Egypt, one tenth of their population, would WISH they were dead already.

Even Pat Buchanan, about as 'hands off' as you can find regarding the Middle East, wants to support the Egyptian military.

I'm sure Obama would be thrilled if more conservatives weep and moan to punish the military for fighting the Muslim Brotherhood so that they could kill Christians even faster. If you are confused, I'm not surprised.

We should offer a gesture of GREATER support to the Egyptian military, even if it's just a token amount. We need to call for Coptic Christians to be allowed to defect here. We should be smuggling them out of Egypt as fast as we can. That is the kind of immigrants we need -- good people who have first hand experience with Islam, the religion of 'peace'. But of course, Obama is an enemy of 'bitter clinger' Christians. And his party denied God three times ['boo' during their 2012 convention]. So don't hold your breath.

Obama's party of 'peace and love' hates Christians. So, maybe if the Coptic Christians put on hoodies and buy skittles, the demon-craps and their RINO toadies might care?

President Clinton bombed Serb civilians on behalf of Islamic terrorists in Kosovo. We were then rewarded with Ground Zero. If we continue to kneel before Islam, we will be 'rewarded' again. I would rather be punished for doing what is right than for supporting evil.

I have a recommendation for anyone wanting to understand why the Muslim Brotherhood is our greatest enemy and an enemy with the full support of the Obama Administration. Read "Islam, Shariah Law, Muslim Brotherhood -- Full Team B report". It's in PDF format.

There is no rational for Obama's support of the Muslim Brotherhood except the obvious: He wants them to succeed with their plan to reestablish the Caliphate and to destroy the America we know and replace it with an Islamic-Marxist totalitarian society.

Here is the link to the report: Islam, Shariah Law, Muslim Brotherhood -- Full Team B report PDF

If you are more inclined to watch YouTube videos you will find the same information here (it just takes some digging): Center for Security Policy

Your heart may be in the right place, but your history is just awful. The Young Turks were the secular modernizers of the Ottoman Empire. They looked to Wilhelmite Germany for inspiration. Why would England feel ashamed of their actions in regards to Armenia. They were fighting the Turks on three fronts(Gallipoli, Sinai, and Iraq) at the time, and taking huge casualties to boot.

“The Young Turks were the secular modernizers of the Ottoman Empire”

Secular? I never knew that secularlists were eager to disarm and slaughter 1.5 million people because they were Chrstian.

And I agree — England was bogged down in war. Guess you didn’t catch my sarcasm because some historians claimed ‘the Free World did nothing about it’. Only Germany should feel any shame.

Obama chooses the strangest friends, doesn’t he?

And by the way, the Ottomans allowed that many Christians to survive in their empire because they didn’t take Mecca all that seriously. In fact, that was the reason why Islam was so powerful under the Ottomans. Take radical mullahs seriously, and your nation will suffer. Only a moderate state can thrive under Islam.

I admit though, that I only read one book about the Ottoman empire and another about the Byzantines, and only learned other things about them from the peripherals of other histories and biogrpaphies.

If you assume he is not a Muslim then the answer is YES. OTOH, assuming he is a Muslim then there is nothing strange about it. I'm inclined to the latter explanation for his behavior.

As the old saying goes - If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck ...

My response should not have been so strident. I knew I was correct, but it’s not so clear.

The Rise of Turkish Nationalism

However, their hopes were dashed when three of the Young Turks seized full control of the government via a coup in 1913. This triumvirate of Young Turks, consisting of Mehmed Talaat, Ismail Enver and Ahmed Djemal, came to wield dictatorial powers and concocted their own ambitious plans for the future of Turkey. [snip]

[Not all Young Turks were so evil.]
