This morning Huffington Post posted a picture including both Martin Luther King Jr and Barack Obama in similar poses.
It is an obvious and clumsy attempt to draw a comparison. Barack Obama is a white black (well, he's not a white Hispanic) President who benefited from King's pioneering, but really that's about where it ends.
When King spoke, his words were like poetry. They were inspiring, uplifting and full of hope. Obama, not so much.
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
“They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
King:
"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."
Obama:
“I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”

Oh, Lord help us!
...and Martin didn’t need a teleprompter to say “Good Morning”
Well, he does think he’s a “king.”
From the time Barry first attracted national attention I could not understand why people thought he was a great speaker. Without his teleprompter, he isn’t even a good one.
This administration and its allies in the media and elsewhere have made a mockery of MLK’s memory.
Yeah, but he’s clean and articulate (w/TOTUS).
He has, by single handedly setting race relations back 40 years.
5.56mm
Exactly! We’re 5 years in and he still isn’t good at basic prompter skills! Moochie kicks B-HO’s butt on oration. My fraternity presidents were more authentic speakers!
Frankly, I am sick of this whole conversation in America. He is the President of the United States for crying out loud and it obviously required people that do not resemble him to get there. Give it a rest.
Obama is like dog poop on the bottom of MLK’s shoes.
60 years.
Hi CG! No reason other than I haven’t posted to you in some time.
It has been a long time. I changed careers in 2007. More money, more benefits, less time to get on FR. A lot of my free time has been tied up being a grandfather to 5 grandkids born since Mar 2008. My daughter has 3 and my son has 2. Aged 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The odd numbers are my daughter’s the even numbers are my son’s.
How have you been. Hope all is well.
I heard a little bit of Obama’s speech today. He was doing his fake ‘preacher cadence’. Disgusting.
I’m good. Congrats on the Grandkids... they’re more important than us bunch of malcontents.
Best to you all.
thanks
