Petty Tirade: Selective Shutdowns at 12 National Parks Across America
IJReview ^ | 10/05/13 | Kyle Becker

Washington’s grown a bit nastier and colder since the last government shutdown, and the casualties of the partisan fight are the family memories lost from being denied access to public landmarks that are supposed to belong to the people. The government doesn’t see it that way anymore – it’s all just a “damn game” and the folks running the Capitol are just toying with the American people.

That’s right – public memorials, monuments and parks remained open under President Clinton and the Republican Congress in 1995/96, causing one to wonder how much inconvenience and financial hardship this partial government shutdown is creating is actually necessary.

Michelle doesn’t want the serfs in the palace except for a few photo-ops.

Where are all those flash mobbers when you need them?

This is all further proof that “we the people” mean NOTHING to the all mighty government. Everything belongs to the US Government and we are nothing but a but of worker slaves that get a bone thrown to us once in a while. God help us....

The largest reservoir in the nation, and the 4th most-visited site in the NPS system, is in complete lockdown. I tried to visit Lake Mead today at the remote, unmanned, and amenity-free east end near the Grand Canyon. Barricades across the road and an NPS truck -- with armed ranger-- behind the barricade. Absolutely no access. He told me all boats had to be removed from every marina on the lake too. And no more rafters would be entering the lake from the Grand Canyon.

Governor Jan Brewer: Where the hell are you?! 10th Amendment nullification NOW!!!!!!!!

Down here in the Keys they have tried to close down Florida Bay's 650 square miles to boaters and fishermen. It's working to a degree but this is a slow time in the Keys.Lots of backcountry fishermen/captains depend on revenue/charters in the fall when water temps finally drop and they can get back and catch reds, trout, bonefish, snook, tarpon and the rest.

The deal is if you go back and get caught the first time its a warning and the second time they try and take your boat. There are still guys fishing but nothing like what it should be this time of year.

The Park Service here has been trying to close down more and more of the Park for years, they never quit.

They have private donations line up to pay to operate the Park (Grand Canyon) but Barry said NO! This child-President’s tantrum is not only costing American citizens money, but ruining vacations for fellow Americans and Tourists from other Countries. What an arse he is.

Lets not screw around with blame here.

The blame is entirely on Obama.

He closed the parks as harassment and petty vindictiveness.

They want a revolt. This is just too much in the face to be anything else.

Funny part is that I think that in reality that was actually Magic Mountain north of Los Angeles. And they do close during the winter.

Yes, I read about that. The town of Tusayan, just south of the Grand Canyon, has raised $325,000 to open parts of Grand Canyon NP, but the Bastard-in-Chief says no.

But here's my point: Gov Jerry Brown of Cal says he will DISOBEY our federal deportation laws in his state. So a precedent has been set. Why can't Gov Jan Brewer of AZ do the same thing with the federal closing of a park in HER state?

I'm just so sick of spineless Republicans refusing to push the envelope. It's in Arizona!

TAKE THE DAMN PARK BACK!!!
