The Washington Post's E.J. Dionne was a guest on NBC's Meet The Press this morning. Dionne declared both the Tea Party and conservatism dead:
I think that the era of the far right and the era of the Tea Party is over. We wasted $12-24 billion of GDP on a political tactic that was designed to win by intimidation. We have an opening for normal government for the first time since the 2010 elections
A search of Dionne's Washington Post columns presents a history of attacks on the Tea Party movement going back to a 4/19/2010 column in which he wrote:
The Tea Party is nothing new. It represents a relatively small minority of Americans on the right end of politics, and it will not determine the outcome of the 2010 elections.
In fact, both major parties stand to lose if they accept the laughable notion that this media-created protest movement is the voice of true populism. Democrats will spend their time chasing votes they will never win. Republicans will turn their party into an angry and narrow redoubt with no hope of building a durable majority.

One of America’s greatest enemies is giving real Americans political advice? How interesting.
Until somebody starts to refute these people this crap will continue...
As usual, this person has confused the ‘Tea Party’ movement with the RNC.
naaaaah.............
It’s the RINOS who are dead—actually they are ZOMBIES. They stagger along, essentially brain-dead, and they think they are still the leadership.
Not for long.
Yepper! EJ is a high priest of the Obama cult. I’m surprised he pulled his head out of his ass long enough to speak.
Memo to EJ: conservatives were born off of the ashes of abortion and will continue to thrive as evil liberals will die drinking the poison.
RIIIIIGHT, and the economy is on the rebound, and the American flag is on Mars.
More precisely, he believes the recent conservative movement to prevent America’s slide into Nazism has failed.
Not dead... just dormant.
But I suspect the sleeping giant will awaken soon, if it hasn’t already.
I think that it’s safe to ignore this pipsqueak.
One out of three - better than Dionne or Obama can do.
Rumors of their death are greatly exaggerated.
well LOL!
obviously has no idea of what is the “Taxed-Enough-Already” (TEA) party depth of sentiment in this country
I wonder if they even know what the acronymn “TEA” stands for?
His mouth didn’t get that way from eating bananas.
Votes talk B.S. walks!
EJ is one of the posterboys for the insanely stupid marxist propagandists masquerading as journalists.
Go ahead, keep telling yourself that EJ.
Whoops, I was thinking of Sheila J. Lee and got carried away.
