Like the proverbial Boogeyman, ObamaCare continues to wreak havoc in the lives of hardworking Americans. People are losing jobs over the implementation of the laughably-named Affordable Care Act or, if they're lucky, getting pushed from full-time to part-time positions. Insurance premiums are skyrocketing, causing severe sticker shop to the most ardent Obama worshipper (they're fine if somebody else is footing the bill, but Heaven forbid if they have to pony up any of their own money!) and vast numbers of people are having their health insurance canceled as they do not meet the criteria of ObamaCare. However, the biggest news (besides the whole ObamaCare website debacle) is that the Obama administration knew for years that people were going to lose their health insurance and their doctors, but they continually lied to the American people, promising that they wouldn't. My question is why isn't anyone in jail over ObamaCare?
Obama and his progressive liberal cronies spent years reassuring the American public that "if you like your policy, you can keep your policy. If you like your doctor, you'll be able to keep your doctor." We knew that this would be untrue as the entire premise of ObamaCare is built upon the ponzi scheme of forcing young, healthy people to sign up to pay for the insurance plans of older or indigent people. It was basic mathematics that prices would go up when you force insurance companies to cover more people, cover more procedures, and to bring coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. Yet, the low information voter lapped up the fairy tale rhetoric of Obama. Now we learn that Obama and his allies knew for years that, in fact, most people would lose their individual insurance because of ObamaCare. Obama preached that your policy would be grandfathered in, but just three months after signing the legislation, they changed the regulations where if your policy had any adjustments at all (such as a change in deductible or premium), then your policy would not be grandfathered in. Yet they still told the lie and now millions of people are losing their health insurance.
So far, it has been estimated that 1.5 million people have had their insurance canceled because of the new ObamaCare regulations. With a grand total of 19 million Americans having individual health insurance, it is estimated that 16 million of them will lose their insurance at the end of the year. These numbers are too big to ignore and the mainstream media is, grudgingly, starting to cover it. They'll still do their best to cover for Obama, but perhaps the message is finally sinking in to the low information voter as they see their bank accounts taking a massive hit.
The big crux of this matter is that the Obama administration flat out lied to the American public. I honestly think people should be going to jail over this as it is fraud on an epic scale. If someone in the private sector sells you something promising certain benefits, but actually lies about what you're getting and knowingly tweaks the documents to screw you over, it's a criminal offense. Regular criminals go to jail for deeds such as this every day, but yet we're expected to put up with it from Washington? If I sold you a car that I knew had defective brakes but told you that the car was fine, and then inserted language that I wasn't liable for any accidents due to brake failure in the small print, I would be held negligent if your car crashed due to the brakes failing. It would even be more grievous if I changed the language of the contact after the fact.
Every time Obama stood up before a crowd and said that you could keep your insurance, he committed fraud. Every interview he gave where he said you could keep your insurance, he committed fraud. Every time a progressive liberal flunky (be they a senator or representative or bureaucrat) said that you could keep your policy under ObamaCare, they were guilty of fraud. Let's not sugarcoat it. I hate it when the media or even conservative pundits won't call a lie a lie, but instead call it something softer such as misrepresentation. A lie is just that, a lie. And the American pubic was lied to for years, and I don't understand how that cannot be illegal. I guess my problem is that I believe in the rule of law, while progressives only believe in that the ends justify the means.

There would have to be a law, a recognition of a breach of said law, and an entity or force of some kind willing and able to prosecute. We have none of those. Since the financial crisis, the US has acquired the astounding ability to excise out of public, regulatory, and judicial recognition breaches of existing law...breaches which used to occur with some frequency, but normally did not escape notice for long. Now it’s a “best practice” and is practiced as a matter of policy. And here we are.

Everyone from Obama to Pelosi should be in jail, right now, because of the intentional deceit hoisted upon the American public.
It also helps that the Department of Justice is run by Obama’s partner-in-crime, Eric Holder. I don’t see anything being done either. It just shows the elite mentality of DC: “laws for thee, but not for me.”

Don’t worry, within a few years there will be plenty of people in jail over Obamacare including citizens who don’t pay the “taxes” and doctors who don’t fully comply or dare to pursue free-market strategies.

I’d love to see an investigation into just where the 600 million dollars was spent on an amateurish website that will never work. Why was it given on a no-bid contract to a foreign company (Canada) with ties to Michelle Obama? I’d like to make them prove where this much money was actually spent. My guess is they never spent even close to that amount. They probably actually spent less than 50 million and maybe much less. As far as I know Congress has no power of subpena over foreign entities and workers. Someone with more knowledge could probably help me out here.
Anyway, if this vast amount of money was not spent for this POS website, where did that money go? Who embezzled it and who else benefited by such a scam? My guess would be a certain couple sitting in our white house were the instigators AND beneficiaries of the scheme. Why else would they send it to a foreign company with no legal obligation to the US?
I’m no lawyer, maybe someone who is a legal mind can help me out here, but to a layman like myself, this thing stinks to high heaven. I for one, am really pissed off!
