It's that time of the week when we turn our focus on those whose actions are odious, foul, and anti-American. Rightwingpatriot.com normally chooses progressive liberals as the recipient of our ire, but we have also taken to task those who falsely claim themselves to be on the right, yet attack the very grassroots that have elected them to office. This week, we choose two entities who have lied to the American people, continue to lie to the American people, and have done their level best to hide the deception or deflect it. Our Jerk of the Week is President Obama and the mainstream media.
The central reason for choosing Obama and the mainstream media is ObamaCare. This progressive policy is designed to wreak the private sector and put Americans under the yoke of federal bureaucrats. Since its inception, Obama told the nation that if you liked your plan, you could keep your plan...period. We now know that that was a lie. Even worse, Obama and his progressive liberal cronies knew it was a lie, but kept shoveling it out to the American public. This week, Obama held a rambling press conference where he again lied about his lying and then decided, on his imperial whim, to delay the individual mandate for a year, which coincidentally coincides with the upcoming midterm elections in 2014. Now, it is fairly evident that the President does not have the Constitutional authority to do such a thing, but the US Constitution hasn't stopped Obama before. Now Obama plans to try to make private insurance companies the scapegoat through his duplicitous actions. The rub is that if the insurance companies comply with his request to continue offering cancelled policies, they'll still be guilty of violating federal law. Of course, Obama has never used the power of federal law enforcement against those who've crossed him, like the IRS.
Now that we have learned that the Obama administration lied to us for years about ObamaCare and its effects, we have also learned, not to our surprise, that many journalists in the mainstream media knew about this. Even worse, they refused to report it and instead lied to all of us and sang the praises of ObamaCare so that Obama would win re-election. They continue to this day to repeat Obama's lies with the newest piece of propaganda being that only 5% of Americans will be hit with health policy cancellations. The actual reality is that up to 93 million Americans may lose their health coverage. Yet the mainstream media refuses to discuss that fact and continues to push the 5% false narrative. Byron York wrote an editorial in The Washington Examiner where he states this succinctly. He states:
"All during the debate, Democratic officeholders, aides, policy wonks, advocates and sympathetic journalists all knew coverage cancellations would be coming as part of ObamaCare. Of course, the president knew, too. When Obama made the keep-your-coverage promise, over and over, those Washington insiders accepted the untruth as a necessary part of the process, something Democrats had to do to pass their bill.
But millions of Americans didn't get the memo and took Obama at his word. And now that the promise has been proven false, the president is trying to recover his credibility his desire to do so was painfully evident at his long and sometimes rambling news conference Thursday and his party is searching for cover."
For lying to the American people, continuing to lie to the American people, and for burying the truth of the deadly effects of the Affordable Care Act, President Obama and the mainstream media are our Jerks of the Week.
Obama has worked hard to earn this honor as the most contemptable man on the planet.
0vomit is the jerk of the week every week.
I say an award for news not reported by the MSM that would be damaging to Obama’s credibility or that woyld reveal his true agenda should be next.
