It seems the city of Vancouver, British Columbia is demonstrating that quite literally. "Bancouver," as it will not be affectionately referenced has decided to ban door knobs. No, seriously, they have.

Nanny State PING!
This is not Satire. They really do hate door knobs.
self loathing evidently........
San Rafael CA ..just down the road from here....just banned smoking..... in connected private residences.... and apartments...
everybody gots to ban SOMETHIN
I am sure the elected door knobs don’t want any more in the city running for their office spots.
But those idiots elected them.
Seems much like what happens in California then, the rest of the US.
Ban doorknobs?! Well, they better get rid of all those politicians then!!!
Thanks for the ping!
Hmmmmm, I can see an opportunity to open “Smoke Easy” establishments. Basically, Speakeasies for “eeeeeeeevil” smokers.
the militant anti smokers..would be certain to see it was denied a PERMIT to exist...
actually there is a smokers club in nearby Mil Valley but people in San Rafael wouldnt likely walk there for a leisurely smoke.
the anti smoke attitude around here is truly INSANE. ..I-N-S-A-N-E
I’ve always considered Obama a door knob.
Like I said, these would be like speakeasies. ;-)
0bama can’t go to Vancouver anymore.
Door knobs serve a useful purpose. Obama, not so much.
“Basically, the idea is that you try to make environments that are as universally usable by any part of the population.”
in other words, add huge costs to 100 per cent of the population, that affects only a tiny percentage, and may not even affect them at all.
Claiming your city an Obama free zone would instantly raise real estate values.
True, very true! :-)
Someone is fighting the scourge of our times - doorknobs.
Strange. I heard that a Canadian Province was banning them too
Levers are probably easier for thieves to break into.
